3D IMAX is the way to see this. It puts you right in the action. It was better than I was expecting, Mrs. A however decried the lack of plot. Not sure what she was expecting...

Watched this with the boys last night

They liked it for the most part but thought there was too much Sally / romance in it. 14 and 10 year old boys, go figure.

James' power is even more terrible, he sucks the life out of anything around him for a wide distance if he is sick and injured.
Strange modern fairy tale that is well worth watching. Love will cure all.

Watched this on the weekend. I liked the story, but i found the transition of James from being withdrawn to being all open, telling his life story and then in love all kind of rather extremely sudden, and not really matching his experience from his childhood trauma that had led him to reside in a shack in the woods alone for 8 years or whatever.

Although Mrs. Me and our older daughter found it painfully slow (me not so much) so i guess it's good it didn't take longer. I think they should have told the story differently, with James & wasshername meeting on multiple occasions.

Thor: The Dark World and it was really really enjoyable

Okay, I know these are not movies but while watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade yesterday, 2 commercials made me all teary eyed--
Wells Fargo (Christmas ad) and Johnson and Johnson's with the baby telling the mom she's doing a good job! Break out the tissues! And that's way before I broke out the bottle or bottles of wine!

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Nearly Three Bloomin' Hours of CGI

I've always liked Tolkien, I enjoyed what Peter Jackson did with Lord of the Rings... but there just seems too much of this. Enough.

Yeah, we just saw this too. I'm very disappointed at his inability to just let the story tell itself. I don't even mind all the pre-LOTR stuff, but the ongoing cat & mouse with the orc that Thorin has a personal relationship with, and the fight with Smaug, were both quite insulting. Even my 10 year old thought it was too much.

Watched this again last night. One of my favorite movies in quite some time.
