Just watched two very different movies this evening. "Five Minutes of Heaven" has as its background the troubles in Northern Ireland, and it stars Liam Neeson and James Nesbitt. A good movie, I enjoyed it (if that's the right word), with a solid performance from Neeson and an amazing turn by Nesbitt.

Then I watched the latest Terminator movie. Don't bother, unless you are interested in hearing Christian Bale shouting for an hour...

Sons of Anarchy (Season One DVD)

Anyone else watching this? I found it preposterous to begin with, and I could care less about the "code" of the biker clubs really, but it's rather grown on me as the plot gets ever more extreme.

I DVR this show also. I was a bit leary about a storyline of outlaw bikers with Ron Perlman as one of the leads, but I have to admit I'm definately caught up in the series now. Katie Segal is not to be missed. I don't know about you but the guy that plays Jax, Charlie Hunnam, a virtual unknown, makes you wonder where the hell he's been hiding.
I just seem to be drawn to FX dramadies shows (Rescue Me, The Shield, Sons of Anarchy). The shows all come across in the same fresh change of a gritty love/hate the Protagonist vein.

Once you finish Season One if you like you can catch a glimpse of Season 2 below.

Ahh never caught that in the US, I don't think I've ever seen him on US TV prior to SOA. He's excellent in this role, definately has a long career ahead of him.

They certainly are. Though I'm not sure of what to make of Neeson playing Hannibal Smith in the A-Team movie....

Ok it wasn't today it was like a few weeks ago...but you've gotta see Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs.

I'm not into animations/cartoons/whatever you want to call it...but this movie was really really good and not full of a bunch of pop culture jokes like I was fearing.
I laughed outloud heaps of times and the mustache joke never gets old.

Two thumbs up!

It's total crap but strangely addicting, the design of the DVD menus is rad. (ok I did them I'm a bit partial)

Taking my girls to that this week. The previews looked pretty good, too. There are a lot of kids movies that have actually ranked above regular movies that I had gone through unbelievable trouble trying to coax the husband and get a babysitter for (example, all the Al Pacino movies of the past year -- Why, Al, Why?).

I'll have to give the writers of "Sons," credit. They leave you hanging each week.
Laughable, but entertaining.
My question.....when does Henry Rollins character get whacked?

I predict just before the closing credits of the season finale of a cliff hanger!
