I LOVE Twin Peaks! Somewhere we have poorly recorded videotapes of most of the series. I think I'll need to ask Santa for the DVD version.

I'm all excited that IFC is showing "The Seven Samurai" tomorrow.

I plan to rip that down to DVD and watch it a half-dozen times on my way to (and returning from) Tokyo.

What a fantastic film. I need to own the Criterion disk of that.

I love "Throne of Blood" too.

I watched "Lord of War" tonight. It was okay, but it was not directed by Akira Kurasawa.

The best MacBeth I've ever seen.

Watched 'The Libertine' the other night. Loved it. Thought Malkovich was well and truly cast as Chas 2, and Mssr. Depp was his usual wonderful self as the thoroughly wonderful Earl of Rogering Rochester. Well worth a watch.

Ooo! The stack of IFC, FMC, and TMC (Independent Film Chanel, Fox Movie Classics, and Turner Movie Classics for those of you not familiar with them) films is getting bigger. I'm quite excited! I won't be watching the same crap movies that I'm normally stuck with on this long flight.

I'm adding to the viewing queue:

Dancer in the Dark
The French Connection (I & II)
2001: A Space Odyssey
Searching for Comedy in the Muslim World
Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead
Henry V
Freaks (it's been a while)

Because it's tradition I'll probably throw in Stop Making Sense (one of the finest concert movies ever made), and because the flight is to Japan I really should see if I can borrow Lost In Translation again. I'm also debating between Spinal Tap and one of the three recent Christopher Guest films (Waiting For Guffman, Best In Show, or A Mighty Wind). Also for tradition I might throw in Blade Runner (Director's Cut) and Amadeus. Hmmm.

I have to admit that I'm getting all excited about this trip. Seven fricken Samurai! So cool.

Nice list, O SarariBossMan Off-To-Rising-Sun-Land... so desu! 'A Mighty Wind' is one of my favourites, although 'Best In Show' is hard to beat for sheer psychotic funniness.
