The same - the newest fruit of Nick Cave’s imagination. Brilliance itself.

I recognized a lot of actors...the aboriginal guy was in Rabbit Proof Fence and the sheriff's wife was in Gosford Park

What Movie Are You Watching?

The Out Of Towners starring Jack Lemmon/Sandy Dennis
One of the BEST! I've never seen the remake and I never will.

Extraordinary man. 47 albums and not a tune among them.

I went and set the Thames on fire,
Now I must come back down
She's laughing in her sleeve at me,

I've never managed to listen to a Fall album all the way through!

There was a highly entertaining feature in The Guardian at the start of this year where Dave Simpson attempted to track down everyone who'd been in The Fall -- more than 40 people, apparently:

It's weird, my brother loves Smith / The Fall and probably has all 47 plus numerous dodgy live recordings. He's younger than me and I tried to expose him to good tunes but clearly failed in my responsibilities. I don't understand how brothers can have such diametrically opposite musical taste.

Volver - which I thought was utterly fantastic, I think I'm in a minority as herself and I had the entire cinema to ourselves. :?

Saw Volver a couple of weeks or so ago now. Also in a fairly empty cinema. The public obviously have no taste. I agree with you, soulfinger, it's a brilliant film.

Don't get me wrong. I like Mark E Smith and I love the idea of The Fall and I find it surreal that Thatcher and Smith both lived and worked in Britain at the same time. No, it's just the tunes.

Can you actually class the undead as living?

I'm all in favour of the Fall in principle too, any band still prepared to play the Bier Keller in Manchester will do for me. I just don't lile the complete absence of melody.
