My Sweetheart and I watched the Jonathan Demme/Neil Young concert film. We thought it was splendid. What an amazing artist Neil is - when he knows he's gotta go have brain surgery, he immediately lays down a major piece of work as good as anything he's ever done, which may or may not be seen after his potentially untimely death. I'm incredibly grateful that his surgery was successful, and that he's already done several more top-notch projects since this. It would be painful to watch if things had gone differently. As it stands, it's magnificent - the music, the cinematography, the band, Neil's hat, everything. It would have been a tremendous last will & testament.

I never knew Neil owned Hank Williams' guitar. Wow. Think there's much hoodoo in THAT hunk of wood? Him bringing it back to the Ryman was just one of many amazing, poignant yet sorta funny moments.

My wonderful wife an me watched the following DVDs last weekend:

- Hills have Eyes ( the remake )

- Donnie Darko

- Brokeback Mountain

The night afterwards I dreamt that I wrote a script that was a combination of "Hills have Eyes" and "Bokeback Mountain" called "The Eyes of Brokeback Mountain" in which a couple of cowboys in love are attacked by a gang of mutants.

Pirates Of The Carribean - Just goes to show you what a brilliant actor Johnny Depp is, he can carry the other two so called actors in this film and single handedly make it great viewing.

One Flew Over the Cookus Nest - great film.

The Shinning - Another great favourite in the Maguire household.

Watched "Live From the Town & Country" last night. I love Joe Strummer's narration.
