I would not buy Luther Campbell's I Got Shit on My Mind but he's cool. I like his face.

The Ohio Players' 1977 album "Honey".

Made worse by the knowledge that "[the] honey-dripping nude cover model nearly died during the photo shoot... when the sticky stuff dried under the Klieg lights and sealed off her pores." (As I learned reading Will Hermes' "Love Goes to Buildings On Fire").

Is it just me ? You wait years for a new Bowie lp and the you get this for cover art.Pre-release I thought this cover was a way around the bootlegers getting the hands on the cover before release. The real cover to come on the release date.Sorry but I think its just lazy.

Although I fell prey to the same line of thinking as yourself when I saw it on Amazon a few weeks ago, I think it's a reasonably good conceptual joke. Although I won't be seeing David Bowie Is at the Vic and Albert until early May, I understand the process by which the cover was arrived at was far from lazy and several outtake mockup templates of other distressed iconic Bowie covers (but aren't they all?) are on display in the exhibition.

The album takes a bit of getting used to, though there are three or four instant standouts.
