Evidently the Lynda Carter Wonder Woman series has been added to the HBOMax. I may have to binge watch this until I can't take any more (and then it can again be dead to me for another 40 years).

I finally got around to watching Stranger Things,

Season 1: loved it, very well filmed, sounds are amazing, story is good
Season 2: liked it, not on the same level as S1 but good, too much boring fights
Season 3: ....wtf? Terminator meets Matrix meets...I don’t know....the Looney Tunes? :|
Season 4: no thanks!

I guess this was 2020.

The Duece (David Simon).

In typical David Simon fashion, it's a many-storied tale of a city/neighborhood and the lives lived there. Starting James Franco as twin brothers and set in Midtown Manhattan/Times Square, in 1971, 1977 and 1984 and the world of bar/club owners, sex workers, pimps, porn and cops. It's excellent, of course. We're on season 3 and AIDS is taking it's toll, it's heavy but beautiful.

Haven't seen that one, will look into it. We're missing Spiral already.

Apart from that, recent series have included The Serpent (BBC), The Investigation (Danish TV series, shown on BBC) and It's a Sin (C4). All of which are excellent in very different ways.

The Serpent and It's a Sin were terrific. Thanks for the tip on The Investigation. Hadn't spotted that one. We have (weirdly) enjoyed the French Comedy - A Very Secret Service, very stylish and quite funny. Pleased to have managed without subtitles!

The Watch - new BBC show "based on characters created by Terry Pratchett".

I was aware that Pratchett fans were hating this before it even came out, but thought I'd give it a chance. 3 episodes later my review: It's dreadful. The worst part is the characters, who are all super-intense, which leaves interplay with no good dynamics - a problem for a character-based show.

The worst part also is the attempt to make everything punk-rock edgy, rather than honour Pratchett's writing, where "edgy" was the class-conscious racial melting pot of a medieval/victorian society grappling with racism and gender identity in a vastly smarter and more entertaining way than this unwatchable annoying garbage.

It would be nice if the BBC would get its arse in gear and show The Watch in the UK...

Bob's Burgers which was preempted last week due to NASCAR weather.

Didn't they all crash anyways and some dude was freaking out because he won by default? Screaming about what a great race it was like he was Howard Dean. Hmmm.

It's A Sin (Russel T. Davies)

A mini series about the arrival of HIV/AIDS in Britain in the 80s. Based on real stories, it follows the life a fictional found family as they move through it, from early 80s to early 90s. Brilliantly written, directed and acted. Of. Course. It. Is. So. Sad. But anyone who didn't live through this should probably watch it, because do we need a warning about a pandemic that could be controlled but isn't because it affects mostly marginalized groups...?

5 part limited series on Prime, and yes Neil Patrick Harris is in it.

Agree, this is brilliant and must be watched. We binged it a few weeks ago when it was first released over here.
