The house wobbled once or twice, but no collapse...

Totally surreal watching a coup unfold before your eyes...

Very Scorsese-esqe; which is to say clever, passionate, funny, intense... and dominated by obnoxious misogynist characters. But damn, he does misogyny so WELL.... To be fair, at least one female character appears poised to take a leading role. And the soundtrack is GREAT. We will continue to watch and hope it's not a total sausage fest (which isn't to deny that the music industry of the 70s was not a sausage fest, but - like Mad Men - it's about how you tell that story, and what role you give women in it).

We watched the RNC via The Daily Show with Trevor Noah and Late Night With Stephen Colbert. Trevor won hands down, with coverage both better and funnier, and a better selection of guests. Their "Boko Haram RNC viewing party" alone STILL has me laughing. Although Stephen gets points for his RNC theme song ("Christmas in July") which has been stuck in my head all week, and John Stewart's guest spot (regarding Fox's Roger Ailes) the other night was amazing.
Full Frontal with Samantha Bee did a good special on Wednesday too, which had a great bit on evangelicals who support Trump. John Oliver has been off on vacation, but returned last night, i will watch it tonight.
My overall review of the RNC was less wacky than last time, but darker. They're still crazy though. Congratulations to my American brothers & sisters: nobody shot, nobody died, not even any tear gas.
Looking forward to all of the above's coverage of the Dems this week!
