The 2016 Fursuit Parade in Pittsburgh just appeared on facebook live.

All the kids are greeting them like they're Disney characters. :D

Just finished season 2 of House of Cards (american version). Kevin Spacey is EPIC.

The house wobbled once or twice, but no collapse...

We've watched the first three seasons of the US version, which is brilliant. Waiting for season 4 to be available to us.

Meanwhile, inspired to do so by the US version, we rewatched the UK version from the 1990s, which I remember enjoying a lot back in the day. It's still interesting, but the US version puts it somewhat in the shade, to be honest. And since we've watched it again, UK politics has suddenly gone all House of Cards-y in the real life, and the machinations around the election of a new Tory leader seem very familiar. Which is strange.

And now we've just embarked on watching Homicide: Life on the Streets, which for some reason we'd never caught up with before. So we may be some time.

Mr. Robot is an incredible little show that hooked me from the first episode. I've heard rumors that the lead character is based entirely on our very own DzM

Yeah, that (Turkey) took me back to the August Putsch, the 1991 Soviet coup d'état attempt against Gorbachev.

Meanwhile, we just finished season 6 of Game of Thrones. My only complaint is that they need to produce more episodes, as (particularly the first half of this season) there was too much switching back and forth between small bite-sized segments of the different storylines, both because there's a lot of 'em and i'd rather they get through one at a time, plus some were definitely clipped/rushed through (like those elfish people up north... they just kinda popped up at the end of last season and now they're gone) . I will avoid any spoilers, but will say that was the single most brutal battle scene i have ever watched in any movie or TV show, holy crap.

Also: Arya - yay! The only one who has been all business, no whining, the whole way through. Well, her & John i suppose.

Also: Hodor. Epic! A Tolkien-worthy legend.

Now it is more cops getting killed in Baton Rouge- at least three dead and three more shot. This bad stuff is happening everyday it seems. The new reality is incredibly scary.

My only recent series watch was my first Amazon show-The Man in the High Castle- a show set in 1962 where the Axis won the war. The Japanese took over the West Coast and the Nazis the East. Excellent series, Rufus Sewell as an American Nazi is especially chilling.

In recent weeks - the whole last year, really, since Trump's campaign really took off, i feel i have been watching the unraveling of a nation, live every day at 6. Keep it together America, we're all rooting for you!!

Watched the movie-length pilot for "Vinyl" last night: a look at the 1970s record industry set in NYC. Pilot directed by Martin Scorsese, series created by Mick Jagger, Martin Scorsese, Rich Cohen and Terence Winter.

Very Scorsese-esqe; which is to say clever, passionate, funny, intense... and dominated by obnoxious misogynist characters. But damn, he does misogyny so WELL.... To be fair, at least one female character appears poised to take a leading role. And the soundtrack is GREAT. We will continue to watch and hope it's not a total sausage fest (which isn't to deny that the music industry of the 70s was not a sausage fest, but - like Mad Men - it's about how you tell that story, and what role you give women in it).

Well, looks like I will tune into the Democratic National Convention tonight. Based on today, looking like 1968 all over again. Was only 5 then, so this should be a treat!!

We watched the RNC via The Daily Show with Trevor Noah and Late Night With Stephen Colbert. Trevor won hands down, with coverage both better and funnier, and a better selection of guests. Their "Boko Haram RNC viewing party" alone STILL has me laughing. Although Stephen gets points for his RNC theme song ("Christmas in July") which has been stuck in my head all week, and John Stewart's guest spot (regarding Fox's Roger Ailes) the other night was amazing.

Full Frontal with Samantha Bee did a good special on Wednesday too, which had a great bit on evangelicals who support Trump. John Oliver has been off on vacation, but returned last night, i will watch it tonight.

My overall review of the RNC was less wacky than last time, but darker. They're still crazy though. Congratulations to my American brothers & sisters: nobody shot, nobody died, not even any tear gas.

Looking forward to all of the above's coverage of the Dems this week!
