I've just finished the first half of Season Three of Walking Dead.

i continue to enjoy this show, which has me hooked on the storyline episode to episode. I'm a big fan of Romero-esque post-apocolypic horror/disaster stuff, but dang, i think it's time to make a zombie move/series NOT in the USA. It's getting depressing watching the tattered remains of American humanity continue to kill each OTHER instead of the zombies!

Maybe we need a scandanavian one, where survivours will cooperate with one another to rebuild society, and teach the zombies to be vegetarian or something...

Nice idea. One of the best things about Shaun of the Dead is how it reflected the national character by being set mostly dahn the pub.

Mrs. Me said the same thing. I had high hopes for the film of World War Z (the book is presented as an oral narrative of life during the zombie apocalypse from different parts of the world). Sadly, the preview makes it look like a "one man struggles to reunite his family in the face of the end of the world" typical American action movie. Blah blah boring. I wouldn't be so surprised, but this from the Coen Brothers?!

We've started Season 2 of "Homeland". A well-written and well-acted show that - despite my dislike for spy stories and it's Islam-o-phobia - manages to hold my interest. Bonus points for it's portrayal of a high functioning person with mental illness who is not a bad guy psycho killer. What's her name won some big award for her acting as the bi-polar CIA agent, and clearly earned it.

And I NEVER woulda guessed that Saul was "Inego Montoya" ("prepare to die!) from The Princess Bride.

Yes, Ms. Cadillac and I are hooked also.

Just started watching The Following with Kevin Bacon and it is excellent as well. Of course I have always been a fan of his work and thought he deserved an Oscar for Mystic River. His problem is that he is so good he makes acting look effortless.

OUT (1978) - discovered this great post Sweeney show on dvd and I have to say although a tiny bit dated its a classic. Tom Bell plays released prisoner Frank Ross trying to discover who grassed on him in his last job which caused him to be banged up for an eight stretch. Good viewing

My review of "Nemo" -started off very slow (but thanks to the pre-show hype, work was cancelled). Middle still had slow pacing (only 3-4 inches around 6PM) and had some unintentional comedy as the newscasters were struggling to provide interesting material. By 10PM or so, Nemo hit it's stride, tons of wind and action (one town reported 6 inches of snow in an hour).

As everyone in MA is housebound and ordered off the roads, watching the end of "Nemo" should be great. High Tide is less than an hour away (10AM EST)and waves are predicated up to 32 Ft high in some places. At the end of the show, I will head out to work off the popcorn-tackling the 5 ft mound of plowed in snow at the end of the driveway. Nemo lived up to the hype, right now it is the #6 all time "show" and still climbing...

(didn't know they named Blizzards but the Blizzard of 2013 is known as Nemo)

That's how they gets ya.

I missed the Khan!!!! blizzard. But here come Orko, Plato, Q, Rocky, Saturn, Triton, Ukko, Virgil, Walda, Xerxes, Yogi, and Zeus.
Apparently it's all for twitter. I find twitter hysterical when Honey Nut Cheerios are trending.

Just an update on the end of Nemo. Headed out into the 24 inch snow to shovel out. A late appearance by the hero (aka as my wife's nephew with a snowplow) who took care of most of my driveway. After completing every thing, once last gasp attempt by the villian (aka the town DPW plow) who plowed in the top of my driveway. But a good samaritan in a pick up immediately took care of it {with the comment "That sucks when that happens") to lead to a happy ending of the Nemo saga-although there is still potential for an even happier ending if work gets called off again Monday.

Samuel L. Jackson and Tommy Lee Jones on The Academy Awards.
Damn, Mr. Jones wanted that award... give it!

I didn't realize his cousin was Boxcar Willie. 8)
Also didn't know Mr. Jackson voiced Gin Rummy on The Boondocks. Gotta check that out.
