I agree about the way John Fogerty got shafted, another classic story of a band getting ripped off was Badfinger whose 2 main songwriters Pete Ham and Tom Evans wrote[and recorded] Without You was a mega world wide hit for Harry Nillsson in the early 70s and an even bigger hit for warbling vocal gymnast Mariah Carey.Messrs Ham and Evans got diddly squat/nowt/jack shit for that song and tragically they died young in rather sad circumstances. In recent times, i believe their families have tried to get hold of any royalties through the legal system, but without much success. Now that is criminal man.....

I learned that many people around me, who spent huge amounts of time complaining about the problems in their life, could have avoided those problems if the had exersised even a minimum amount of effort to prevent them in the first place. Lots of trying to shut stables doors after horse has bolted type stuff.

I wonder whether I am the only person in the world who didn't know this before.

In any case, it only strengthens my souring belief in humanity.

Buying a separate mouse for your laptop is a good idea. You can speed through web pages a lot quicker than if you were to use the mouse on your laptop.

Happy days!

Indeedy. But a thing I learned a while ago is that if you're using a wireless mouse you need to keep a spare pair of batteries at hand. And when the comp tells you they need replacing, you need to believe it and do it immediately. Otherwise you have to do a mad rush up to the local shop, while all the internet has to hang around and twiddle its thumbs while it's waiting for you.
Likes the warm feeling but is tired of all the dehydration.

Thanks for that, it is a wireless mouse, but we do keep spare batteries in fortunately.

Another thing I've learned is never put it on a coffee table, you'll get a bad back because coffee tables are lower than ordinary tables.

Though it's hotly debated topic, do not make your wife's pregnancy announcement to early. If your wife miscarry, updating the announcement is such a pain in the ass.

When you reply to a thread on a forum, think carefully before you write anything as you may write it the wrong way and people will end up hating you. Also never reply to a thread on a forum after a few glasses of your favourite tipple as you may live to regret it.
