"New York destroyed a village full of African-American landowners to create Central Park"

Seneca Village had a population of 264 and actually: "Two thirds of the population was black; the rest Irish."

"seized the land under the law of eminent domain, through which the government can take private land for public purposes"
Yep. Imminent Domain is a fraught issue. Often the land/property seized is that of the poor, and for the benefit of the wealthy. A case can be made for the need for private property to be put to a different use for the greater good, but often this greater good looks a whole lot like corrupt intent.

Fun fact: Trump's Wall is expected to need to utilize imminent domain to seize/bisect land from many private citizens to fix a problem that these private citizens (mostly) claim hasn't been an issue for 150 years. Imminent domain is alive and well...

I personally think California should take Disneyland over by force. Seriously. Fuck 'em. They've made enough money.

Disney sucks.

We might even share the profits with the other Californias. How were they gonna slice it again? Three parts?

*Aha, Northern California, Southern California and California-California, LOL.

We are a small but hungry country.

That must be why your population is so small.

DzM wrote:And babies ... so tender.

lol. And if they weren't such finicky eaters, maybe they wouldn't be so hungry.

Whoa that's harsh. I wonder what you'd have replied to me if I'd said what DzM said?

I can only imagine how would Pogues’ lyrics look like if Shane had been Swiss. We have lots of weird still-living traditions and rituals to talk about, and eating kids ain’t the worse...

Besides, he’d probably be a chocolate addict and eating fondue during their shows.

As for a thing you all (I guess) can learn today: we have our own version of baseball here, called Hornussen. Have a look: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=GdIHOV6VGNU

I don't really get along with DzM either, but I had to admit it was funny. You're right though that I would've used the opportunity to take the easy shot at you if you'd said it. Set up a few more easy shots and maybe we can call it even.
