Neil Young's guitar has it's own wikipedia page:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Old_Black

(Also, so do a bunch of others. Check this list of guitars: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_guitars)

Was in Phoenix for a conference back in August, The last night of the conference the dinner was at the Musuem of Musical Instruments. They were presented in a couple of ways-Historical and by Country.

They also had a section featuring some modern instruments-John Lennon's Steinway (he wrote "Imagine" on it), guitars belonging to Roy Orbison, Taylor Swift, Elvis, Johnny Cash, and many others. Also had the remants of Keith Moon's drum set that blew up on the Smothers Brothers show. A good take if any Medusan is ever in Phoenix.

Conversation with a gathering of old friends revealed this tidbit about the first documented use of "OMG!" I soundly "pffftt"ed the topic until given proof:

In poking around my collection via the database at discogs.com, i have learned that Cronin is basically the same as The Aftermath, who recorded "Rocky Road to Poland" with Shane - both bands led by brothers Johnny & Mick Cronin. In fact, a 2012 release credited to The Aftermath ("In Loneliness Lives Love") was re-released in 2013 credited to Cronin.

A thing or two I learned last Thursday whilst at The Killers' gig in Dublin....

The whole atmosphere in the crowd standing at the front is completely ruined by the use of devices and social media. One of the best live bands I've seen in years and hardly anyone swaying or jumping or even nodding their heads. I was stood behind a young lad (who arrived very early to get near the front) and for whole gig he videoed the start of each song and then spent the rest of the song looking at the screen putting it up on every conceivable social platform.

For fuck sake kids LIVE IN THE MOMENT!

Even the encore of Mr. Brightside, barely any movement in the crowd.

Great band. Shite crowd.

I learned a new verb today.

Jim Corr'd v. when your beautiful sisters post a family portrait and exclude their brother from the photo. Thanks to my cousin Eoin who posted it on Facebook, as the only brother to five beautiful sisters. I imagine this is used a bit in Ireland.

Following your post, I learned today (from wikipedia) that “Corr is a member of the 9/11 Truth Movement and operates a website where he writes about the New World Order”

Sad, I am pretty sure his sisters made tons of money and married billionaires, while he lives in a tiny apartment writing crap on his laptop!

A thing I didn't learn today, but three days ago..and actually already knew but sometimes need reminding of...suddenly remembering i'm an old man with arthritis and a fucked heart...was in town doing a bit of shopping..snow everywhere..about to get a taxi back home..saw a bunch of teenage lads randomly pelting shoppers with snowballs..thought 'what a load of wankers'..then one of them hit a woman who had a baby in a pushchair..I lost it a bit and threatened the lad..suddenly snowballs are hitting me from all angles! So I hobbled towards the nearest, holding my walking stick like a club and told him i'd kill him...words were exchanged, they backed off and I got my taxi and went home..and thought about how incredibly stupid i'd been..I couldn't have fought ONE teenage lad, never mind five or six...my heart was going like a set of drums and I felt ill. Sometimes i'm an idiot.

Remember: always fight snowballs with snowballs!
