We've had and unprecedently sunny summer here in Vancouver. I've spent much of it riding around on my bike looking at all the scantilly clad guys and gals on their bikes passing me (you know, looking at them), and of course also at the beach. But i've realized that, for the most part, these eye candy people i'm looking at are much closer in age to my oldest child than me.

So I've learned today that I am, in fact, becoming a dirty old man.

A thing i learned today.......

Be VERY careful before clicking purchase. I had searched for cheap flights from Glasgow to London and landed upon "eDreams.com", they had EasyJet at just 29 euro including an eDream discount of 9euro :D Went over to EasyJet to check their price and yes, eDreams price is true. I went through the full booking process and all good until the very last page. Just about to click Purchase and noticed the price jumped to 57 euro

eDreams had at the very end added a 25 euro handling charge

Nowhere on their site can you find the handling fee until you get to the Purchase point and you have to scroll down the screen to get to the purchase button and the price goes out of view

Lucky escape

Never date a doctor, they will only steal your Tupperware.

Do not go to the library before you do shopping just in case you see loads of books that you want to take out. Books can be heavy. :|

... wow ...

You just HAVE to share this brutal reminder that musicians are just people (and in several cases people that have very clearly had adversarial relationships with their bodies) on a holiday?

Good lord. Once again the Internet destroys my fond childhood memories.

Some age better than others, but it remains true that it's generally a mistake to see your heroes close up.

Dave Gahan is still amazing onstage (perhaps even more so these days). Johnny Marr is one of the coolest people around. And Phil Oakey supports my theory that if you use too much of your hair up when you're young, you'll pay for it later.

I have the original vinyl of that album, with that picture (though in colour), on my vinyl shelves somewhere, bought when it was first released. Although the cover was almost immediately banned in the UK, and by the time my mate went to the shop to buy it, the picture had been replaced by something more, erm, discreet. He was not best pleased. I actually thought it was clever and artistic. Yes I did.

I had a bit of a weakness for Bow Wow Wow back then, in the same sort of way as for Adam and the Ants. (Mind you, Mr Ant does a fine live gig these days.)

So sorry gents. Didn't mean to be so caustic to the eyeballs.... I thought particularly unrealized transformations were not only Annabella Lwin but Adam Ant and Paul Young as well !

A thing I learned today is, apparently in Wisconsin, where I have lived my whole life, it is illegal to start your car and leave it running (to warm up) and leave it unattended. It's been a little chilly here in Wisconsin so yeah, I went out after work today to start my car and let it warm up. I just stepped in the back door for a few minutes and when I came out there was Mr. Personality himself writing me a ticket for leaving a running vehicle unattended. What a load of crap! The door was locked while it was running, what the hell is going to happen?!!So, I thanked him for his trouble and told him to have A REALLY NICE DAY!!!!!
