The role of The Terminator from the movie of the same name was originally supposed to be played by... O.J. Simpson.

For all the tasteless headlines that never were, I am truly thankful.

Trying to unsubscribe from an internet service you no longer use anymore can be annoying and rather costly. :x

The things I learned today:

1. Shopping at a different Tesco can take a bit longer than usual and feel a little confusing but still not as confusing as shopping at ASDA.

2. My family cannot tell the difference between my natural colour hair and my freshly highlighted hair even though it was at least four shades darker when I saw them on Tuesday.

3. The place where my parents live, which is also the place I grew up in, has finally got a decent chippy.

4. I never ever ever want to see anyone in a onesie again.

5. My niece is my biggest stalker on Facebook.

I learned that my godmother (who has had a long acting career) appeared in an episode of the TV series Blake's 7. I am appalled that I didn't realise this back in the day, as it was always "must-watch" TV as far as I was concerned... Though, in a strange way, I'm also slightly relieved at my lack of awareness...

Blimey! Which episode? Which character? I'll dig out the box sets. I need no excuse.

I'll get me anorak.

She played an evil scientist type called Kostos, who turns out to be working for Servalan, in the last episode of the third series. I'm still astonished I didn't know this in 1980. Box set time indeed.

Out of step with most of the continent, drinking & driving is growing MORE common here in British Columbia. Rates have risen 50% in the last 10 years, and women are far more represented than they used to be in this sector (hurray for the move to equality!)

In good news, rates are still half of what they were 30 years ago.

In the absence of Jake today (out at a motorbike show with his son and still out now, I'm not panicking he's phoned to let me know where he is), I learned how to use the freeview box for the TV.

I don't usually get near it because he hogs the remote.

Today I learned that pianos do not appreciate having water poured into them. See Moaners thread for context.
