Hairyfale of You Nork may in fact be the correct title for what's being used in that Tesco ad. It's something that sounds a bit like Fairytale of New York but somehow just wrong.

I do hope Mr Tesco is paying vast amounts of money for the privilege...

Not to me he's not.

I'm curious if they change a few notes in a tune so that one goes "Hey that sounds like ..." Is this automatically a ploy to nullify any royalties?

Unless they're using the Pogues recording - they're not - only the author(s)/compser(s) of the song are liable to receive royalties.

According to my eldest niece's Facebook page, she is five years older than I older than I originally thought.

I swear she only started high school last term but she claims to have been born in 1995.

That would be because she has to be 13 to have access to the work of the devil that is facebook. The facebook's high level security works so well? Are you over 13? Answer yes and OK, cool, away you go.....

I'd forgotten that Christopher Walken was in Annie Hall. Gotta love Duane.

The world is very small.

An old friend born here in Vancouver but living in Montreal since the early 1980s came over this afternoon, ate cheese, drank wine, and showed my daughter how to use reverb on her violin. He leaves. I talk with neighbour across the hall who asks about the great loud violin playing he was hearing and... to make a long story short, they were pals in Montreal in the late 1980s!

Don't waste money booking expensive West End shows as everything comes to Liverpool in the end. :)

Yes, though whether it can still boast a full orchestra, the A team cast or even the complete sets is a different matter.
