I bought the soundtrack he did for "If I Could Read The Sky" because Storm (Tom McManamon & James McNally) are on it, and was surprised at the mellow new age sound of any project that involved McManamon. He was wasted! McNally was lest of a surprise, what with whistles and low whistles and all.
I saw them ("Storm") open for the Pogues way back in 1991. I loved them at the time, but I was 20 and also very probably drunk. I then spent some number of years trying to find stuff by them and was sorely saddened to discover that there was some wanker hair-rock band that went by the same name, so I was never able to find anything.
I'm not surprised to learn that McNally is all new-agey flutes and stuff (I mean - he's a flute player. What're you gonna do?). But McManamon? Somehow that really surprises me.
