Thought Johan was in particularly good voice. And now I like the idea that Fr McGreer never stopped singing Sally MacLennane from pre-gig all the way to late night on the tube home...

Right, although he was a little annoying at the actual gig, so we made him go stand in the corner.

Just hope there wasn't a repeat of the arse-in-face episode with the rude woman on Thursday night...

It's not quite as exciting as it sounds, but it was a strange and somewhat confusing incident involving a woman who really didn't seem to want to be at a Pogues gig at all.

Some chick in Philadelphia had her boyfriend tell me I was rude for letting my saddlebag type purse touch her person at the rail before a show... I just looked at her and said "Do you know where you are?" Unbelievable. She had a bauble decorated clutch purse that she was holding in front of her, over the rail. No touching! If ever someone deserved a cup of beer tossed on their head...

On first glance I read this as "they were the best pre gig pants ever." Made me wonder, for a moment, if you brought multiple sets of pants to gigs. "Is HE the guy that always seems to be getting undressed in the bathroom?"

Fortunately a second reading corrected my error.

Doesn't everyone have pre-gig pants, gig pants and post-gig pants then? The post-gig pants are especially necessary after some moshpits. If they don't sell them on the Pogues' merchandise stall, there's a marketing opportunity they're missing.

I certainly recall leaving a few gigs SOAKED in sweat (and a few bars soaked in beer) into frigid Toronto winters back in the day and thinking i should, indeed, have brought a change of clothes.
