Well i'll add this anyway: I will never again be able to hear "Hyperactive" without imagining Michael Jackson singing it. True story: Dolby wrote it for MJ after they met while editing videos next door to one another ("She Blinded Me..." and "Billie Jean", respectively). Jackson was about to record the Victory album with his brothers. Dolby sent the tape and phoned Jackson some weeks later. He didn't like it, but asked Dolby if he could send him some (? some sort of plant or grass) from Wales for his Lamas.

And those were the last words Michael Jackson ever said to Thomas Dolby...

Yup - he told that story introducing Hyperactive! in NY as well. It was ragwort that MJ was after...

Interesting album, that. Co-written with Bernie Taupin, and incls. some musicians fresh from working with Elton John, and others Clapton, yet producing a distinctly Alice record. Arguably (by me) his last really great album. And gosh i loved the die-cut record cover with the doors and pictures inside....

What a tune! I remember finding that on Motown Memories volume 2 in about 1972. I'm off to dig it out and wake the house up. Brilliant album! R Dean Taylor & Barbara McNair too. Fantastic.
