A place to discuss largely non-Pogues related things.

Hey, i said no one. The Pogues have never been less than, like, six.

Although, reflecting on what i said ("what's heartbreaking is the longing in the singer..") I may stand by the comment anyway. The lyric doesn't mention the singer's feelings at all (tho' they are implied, i guess), but Hazel's delivery makes the song - for me at least - entirely about that.

LOL! I'd listened to the Billy Bragg original first, which is one of my favourite songs, and there was a link on YouTube to the Dubstar version, which I'd totally forgotten about.

I hate not to complain about the weather, but despite it raining on St Swithin's Day here, we've hardly had a drop of it since. It's forecast to storm today, but there's no sign of it. Mind you, it's probably saving it up for a full-on Glasto mud experience at the Folk Festival next week.

Currently listening to Tenpole Tudor's Swords of a Thousand Men. Hoorah hoorah hoorah yeah.

Sorry to self-quote, but I stand corrected. It's now persistently raining here.
Listening to The Rain it Rains Most Every Day, sung by Jon Boden. Yes.
