OHIO - CSNY via Friction

Post Wed May 05, 2010 3:26 pm

Last night my old band from the 80s, Friction, was rehearsing for our (cough, wheeze) 30th (gasp) anniversary coming up this summer. As I walked in, Joe started playing "Ohio" by CSNY, and everybody fell in line. We played a fairly ferocious version of the song - and that was undoubtedly the only time we'd ever played it. When we were done, I said "Do you know what today is?" and nobody did. "It's the 40th anniversary of the Kent State massacre. I heard a spot about it on NPR on the way here."

So that song just came out of the air and forced us to play it. Spooky!
Disclaimer: These are my opinions and not fact as realised in these here United States, lest I give my friends the idea that everyone thinks like me.
