A place to discuss largely non-Pogues related things.

Just tuned into Lastfm radio for the first time .You choose a band and it plays like minded music list. The above list it what it choose to play on pogues radio.

Hmm. I think I spot a flaw in its logic. 8)

Actually, if you consider it's guessing on what a *fan* of The Pogues would appreciate hearing, it's not so bad.

But a cursory trawl through this thread illustrates otherwise.

Listened to it for a good hour or so.Too be honest I was really susprised at how close to my music taste the list played was with Pogues radio. It played very few bands I have not bought records /cds of over the years. The bands I had not heard of that it played also sounded really good.Only down side was the list was too the folk side of my tastes.Never really thought there was a typical pogues fan .
Tried it with other bands with alot less success. The worst being Neck as it played a USA band of the same name and showed a slide show of pictures of the London/Irish band followed a some terrible thrash punk bands.
Does any one know how this set up works , [is a computer programme, based on sales ,record company ideas or what ?]

had Neil Young on...'on the beach'...such shit-hot lyrics...'i'm deep inside myself but i'll get out somehow'...
'I need a crowd of people, but I can't face them day to day'...You're all just pissing in the wind, you don't know it but you are, and there ain't nothing like a friend who can tell you're all pissing in the wind'...
'She needs someone that she can scream at, and i'm such a heel for making her feel so bad'...these words reach down in me and drag stuff up.

Now i've got a Beatles compilation on...all the number ones...surprised to discover I know the words to every song so far...even the cheezy early ones...actually, I was a sixties kid, so I suppose i'm bound to know them.
My alltime favourite is 'Eleanor Rigby'.
