"Dance For Yer Daddy" from Horslips' opus debut, Happy To Meet Sorry To Part. My daughters are being nuts for it, with the youngest doing some pretty funny interpretive dance.

What's interesting is in the middle of this - possibly the goofiest thing they recorded - is placed a phenomenal guitar solo, a brilliant mix of Irish & American country, some time before that was all the rage, to boot. Stunning.

The girls just love the "You shall have a fishy on a little dishy / You shall have a fishy when the boat gets in" part.

The Sean O'Riada finale is amazing too. Strange, it used to be my least favourite track on that album and I routinely skipped it. In consequence, I only really (re)discovered it recently.

Altogether now: "Come in wor little Jackie / Here's some wacky baccy / Have a pipe of crack-y / When the boat comes in"

Now i feel pretty smart, 'cause i was lying on the couch half asleep, i was thinking that climactic finale had the soudn of the O'Riada stuff on that 3-disc collection i bought last spring.
