Waiting For My Real Life to Begin - Colin Hay

I have a new found interest for him solo.

The Specials were a brilliant band, Irishman. Always liked them, always regret not having seen them.

"Dance Like A Monkey" - NY Dolls

Elsewhere on the new album, David Jo comes off like he's got his nose in a thesaurus - "Maimed Happiness" uses the distinctly UN-rock&roll words "acquiesce" and "tempestuous" in the first verse - but in this rave-up, he follows up "anthropomorphize" and "perversely polymorphosize" with a gleefully idiotic "YAYUH!" that balances everything out perfectly. The line about casting his swine before pearls is pretty great too.

I am so psyched to go see these guys again next month. In a world that spends so much of its time SUCKING, having the Dolls and the Pogues both back on the boards is great.

In the comic book liner notes of the new Dolls album, someone says that the Dolls needed to come back and save rock & roll, but they took too long. "We're going to stick around and play anyway" says the cartoon David Jo. To which I say: YAYUH!
Disclaimer: These are my opinions and not fact as realised in these here United States, lest I give my friends the idea that everyone thinks like me.

The Fratellis: 3 Skinny Girls

(I just bumped into these guys - almost literally. I was in the bar at the local venue at lunchtime, and in they walked. They're playing there tonight.)

Aww, I'd have got him an autograph from them if I'd known, soulfinger. :)
