"Thousands Are Sailing" Puck & Piper (2008)

Long-established Russian band of some considerable charm. Kinda Pogues-meets Horslips-meets Moving Hearts in a rumble. Had I known the song would "travel" so well, I might have considered a couple of Brighton Beach/New Odessa references.

I like the sound of them! I've done a quick Google and unsurprisingly got lots of sites in Russian! Have they got a website, or how did you get hold of the track, Philip?

ETA: Just found them on Amazon!

"Dali Lama" by Detrimental (a short-lived - but fabulous - band founded by Fun-da-Mental founding members Inder "Goldfinger" Mantharoo and Amir "Bad-Sha" Lallaman); from a March 1995 Peel Session.

"The Travelling People", and flashed back on when I played this one for Tony Duggins when he was here (he'd asked for some Thin Lizzy -- whoops!) He became emotional as he sang along with it.
