I just put a little edit on the last post to show the stage but for Giants Stadium they're seting it up endstage which I just don't get. There must be 10 Stadiums in a 30 mile radius they could do this in and not one in the center? Ehh I'm done moaning about these guys.

Now can I moan on about your best guess, approximation, on the Spring US tour announcement? Nothing official mind you ...just a carrot to dangle in front of this old horse! 8)

Well, you know, my feelings about these megashows are on record already, so I'm not about to give 360 a resounding thumbs up. With The Radiators, I performed on the U2 Vertigo stage 4 years ago at Croke Park and was a little surprised to find these platforms seem a great deal more intimate to the performer than they do to the poor sod in Row ZZ. But that's probably the reason why the last time I watched, and enjoyed, a U2 show all the way through was at the (comparatively intimate) Madison Square Garden in 1987, when they tore the place apart with their sheer energy and power - a real five star gig. You won't find me watching U2, or any other act for that matter, through binoculars.

Holy crap I saw them in the Garden in 87! It was in Sept I remember because like I just mentioned my wife got me tickets for my birthday. Joshua Tree tour.
I'm sure you had the VIP treatment I was in fairly good seats, not the old "blue" section in the ceiling.

I agree. I would buy the DVD before paying to watch any show in binoculars.

I am going to sound like a HUGE ass here, But we had dinner before the show in NYC (I had just recently gotten engaged to the Mrs) and we actually missed the opening act. If you tell me it was the Pogues both nights I'm going freak! I had no idea who the opener was that night! OMFG.
I never realy spoke about my first time hearing seeing the Pogues and all but it wasn't until a friend of mine in '88 seeing I liked U2 at the time gave me "Red Roses" and I was hooked soon after. I didn't see you for the first time until the Beacon 90 something 92? OMG you have no idea the feeling I have in my gut right now.

OK you're playing with me here right? "Takin the piss" as they say? I can't find anything anywhere that says who was the opening act and It doesn't show on the Pogues lists I'm checking. THIS would lead me to the biggest MOANING you've ever heard!

I can't swear we played both nights, but we certainly played one of them. And I especially remember it because I had rows with both Frank Murray and Herbie Hancock that day, and not necessarily in that order.

Just needed to get this moan out into the universe and then i can forget about it...in last week my husband threw some water from a glass down the drain, harmless enough except I was cleaning a necklace in it with some washing liquid, then I have misplaced my itouch or had it stolen when car when into service(sorry, hate to insinuate that, but I know i was using it in the car the day before, and pretty sure i put in on passenger seat after), and then on Friday went to put on a CD and my Technics CD player that I have had since '93 isn't reading the CD's - its kind of like a bit of London that i brought over to the US with me as i just got voltage converters for my stereo seperates instead of buying US voltage stereo...and I am buggered if i can find an electrical repair shop ...do they not exist any more..do we have to throw things out and forever consume just because one little chip has decided to call it a day. I used to live near a repair shop and used him regularly - for a fiver they'd (no not that!) repair stuff - i miss repair men and good cobblers and all those service areas that would help you continue the use of somthing you enjoyed rather than feeding the machine and forcing you to upgrade....blah blah.
ps: Am I googling the right term 'electrical repair consumer ' - i am in the US and maybe it is like Taxi - Cab and i am just searching under the wrong name.

Hey Phoenix try to google "electronic repair" I did and it showed several locations within a few miles from me just a few choices down the page. Good luck!

I believe Little Steven and the Disciples of Soul opened one of the two shows.
