Yes, thanks, tea is the answer to most things.

But here's another thing. Why do I keep getting emails addressed to "Dear Pamela" from people I don't know? I have never been called Pamela. [Well, only by my closest friends. On special occasions. At parties maybe. You know how it goes sometimes.] Anyway, bah. And real Pamela, whoever you are, I've got your emails.

I could not agree more, Pamela I mean Firehazard, and have been saying essentially the same thing for many years. Most Americans do not get this, what with their coffee and it's attendant bad breath.

Lawdy yes...I've just had a virus warning email forwarded from the head office of one of the companies I work for. It took about 30 seconds for me to establish incontrovertibly that it was a hoax.

But truly these people are NONGS because once they've been told you can check them (as you said in a few scant seconds,) then WHY OH GOD WHY send them on??? Here's a list we can choose from to call them, (see if you can guess who said them and to whom):
Bellicose Bumpkin, Blithering Booby, Bubble-Headed Booby, Bumptious Booby, Cybernetic Simpleton, Lugubrious Lagert

Sickening Cybernetic, Tin-Plated Tintinnabulation, Traitorous Junkyard Fugitive, Traitorous Transistorized Toad
Unctuous Underling, Ungrateful Wretch, Unspeakable Wretch...(this last one is my favourite.)

Ah, kmurray, tea is a wonderful thing, in all its many forms. I could not be doing without it. Whether its the traditional sort, or a nice infusion, peppermint, green, jasmine... I am possibly addicted to the stuff, but I don't care. Tea is the thing.

Sorry for getting off topic, there's not much complaining in there. So let me add a moan about UHT milk. Which can turn even the best cup of tea into a thing of nightmare. The horror of discovering that someone's put UHT milk in your cuppa is beyond words. Bleurgh.

OK first I can't find the stupid U2 thread.......
I get email updates several times a week on different venues in the tri-state area. Let's me know who's playing where, when tix go on sale etc.

Today I see this bullshit that U2 is coming back around on the 360 Tour, (no pun intended) they just left here Sept , Apparently returning in July 2010. So I ran a check just to see what tickets cost. Keep in mind these are lower level stadium seats! The show is in a F@@kin' 75,000 seat plus Stadium and they have the entire floor GA!
Here's the two ticket run down....
Type Standard Admission -
Select Reserved Ticket Price US Price Details...

Ticket Price US $250.00 x 2
Facility ChargeUS $3.00 x 2
Convenience ChargeUS $15.45 x 2

TWO F@@KIN SEATS IN A STADIUM! $536.90 US
Does Bono know there's a freakin recession going on with 11% unemployment?

That IS ridiculous. The last U2 show I saw just seemed like a big ego maniacal event anyway. Give it a pass and rent the DVD instead. Have they even had a good LP since War?

Clash you're right. I mentioned in another thread they haven't had a good LP in sometime. I wasn't even actually considering going but you know sometimes bands playing Stadiums offer decent seats at a fair price. The section for those high priced tickets is approx 100 meters from the stage. At the complete opposite end of the stadium to boot!
I guess I should note they have pricing for us common folks for the very upper tier ($55) and upper tier behind stage ($35) So you can have the pleasure of watching the whole show on the Jumbotron screens.

I have no comment about the ticket prices but I think it's only fair to pass on the observation I've heard from friends who've seen the show that the main positive effect of the ludicrous "claw" set is to draw the crowd closer to the action, minimising the need for Jumbotron screens.

But Rich, no defence of Market Forces?

The other thing that bugs me is if you're truely doing this whole "360" gimic thing with the tour why have an end stage setup? Wouldn't it be a great idea for you to put the stage in the center of the stadium since its open on all sides anyway? Many have done it before. I'm sure U2's magicians could have made it happen quite easily. I see what you mean about the stage here Mr C ... http://www.u2.com/index.html
So basically the upper seats can't even see you with out binoculars.
On the market forces....I did take notice they put this show on sale this week here but the date of the show is July 19, 2010, some 8+ months from now. With the peon seats sold out early, they have 8 months for the high priced to disperse. I'm sure they're hoping as Christmas and Holiday gifts, bithday and anniversary gifts, just about any reason to sell over this quite a long haul until showtime. Maybe his worldliness, Bono, has insider info on a rebound in the global economy?

My understanding is that, whenever the stadium allows, which it does in most cases, the claw is indeed positioned in the centre, which is, I believe, the whole point of this 360 Degree thing.

incidentally, whether at a Broadway theatre or an NFL stadium, it is standard practice for premium-priced tickets, if they have not sold, to be released at standard price quite close to the date of the event. I call it cheating but again, there are others who would call it Market Forces.

I just put a little edit on the last post to show the stage but for Giants Stadium they're seting it up endstage which I just don't get. There must be 10 Stadiums in a 30 mile radius they could do this in and not one in the center? I wouldn't pay half that price for a stadium seat to see them that far in that nonsense of a setup. It does miss the point of the 360 gimic if it's enstage. Ehh I'm done moaning about these guys.

Now can I moan on about your best guess, approximation, on the Spring US tour announcement? Nothing official mind you ...just a carrot to dangle in front of this old horse! 8)
