Would you describe the area as a ghost town, or more of a concrete jungle?

:D

I'm guessing there will be some big monkey men on the doors of the venue.

Oh and one final thing, do not, whatever you do, go into any boozers round there, you're liable to be set upon by the locals.

Enjoy the gig.

Surely not. The boozers will no doubt be full of welcoming, lovable, friendly, cheerful dedodos. I'll be keeping my accent to myself as usual in the pool

Quite obviously that would require big, big, monkey men.

It all still sounds too risky. And it will be Too Hot. I rather suggest you let me take you on a Sea Cruise, but if not, Enjoy Yourself.

I'm not sure I'm ready for a sea cruise yet. Too much too young?

Why does my liver always despise me on the morning after a public holiday?

Too much too old, I reckon.

Mother Nature is a bitch..

Awful forest fire is raging in Ft. McMurray, Alberta Canada. The entire city of 80,000+ has been evacuated. Now it is getting so bad some of the evacuation sites are being evacuated.
So far, no deaths, but the natural and economic devastation will be tremendous. I have a young cousin (and her husband) who moved there a few years ago from West Clare to work in the Oil Industry.

This falls squarely into "first world problems," but interviewing for jobs sucks. FYI on that.

Although there is an element of Mother Nature's Wrath that nobody seems to be talking about: this is basically the capital of oil sands industry in Canada. The extraction and processing of this "dirty energy" is by far Canada's biggest output of greenhouse gasses. These fires are happening because of record temperatures and dryness caused in great part by... global warming. Alberta is next door to where I live (British Columbia), and last year we had record forest fires, and it's ironic to me that at that time everybody was talking global warming, but when it happens in oil sands country, nobody says a word.

"That guy is a twat. Run away."

Actually, once upon a time Philip was listed as one of my references. It was not fun to have to remove him.

Did you lose your job b/c you spent too much time on "personal" [raft] work?

Sadly(?) no. Project canceled, team disbanded.
