A shockingly large amount of it is sitting in my "Please approve these messages" queue. Glad none of it got through though. w00t!

There still seems to be a stray one lurking a couple of threads down in Speaker's Corner, I think... in which they seem to be conversing with each other.

D'oh!

So easy to miss in all that static. Thanks for the pointer.

I bet that if I actually tried to throw my phone down the toilet pan from the other side of the bathroom, I'd miss.

Well, it seems my Christmas Day plans have changed.

As my parents don't live on Merseyside anymore and I'm not going to see them until next week, a kind Aunty had offered to let me spend Christmas Day with her, my uncle and cousin, but they're not doing it now because Aunty is ill.

I'm now going to have to spend my 2nd Christmas on my own, in the house in front of the TV watching crap with Jake, who hates Christmas and anything to do with it.

I have now opened the bottle of wine I had bought for tonight that I wasn't going to have if I was going to Aunty's.

Happy Christmas, you're arse!

Sucks, Heather. If you're the type of person that enjoys family gatherings then having those plan fall apart surely is an annoyance.

Me? My inlays recently moved halfway across the continent so I find myself (and the Lovely Mrs. DzM) at home on Christmas Eve for the first time in what feels like decades. I'm quite enjoying this bottle of wine and slow evening.

I suppose this means it all balances out. Have a jolly evening despite the shifted plans!

I'm not really the type who likes family gatherings, I just don't like that lonely Christmas day feeling when you've got nowhere to go.

Mind you, it hasn't turned out too bad until now, Jake went to visit his son for an hour at lunchtime so I for once got the choice of what to watch on TV and I managed to keep hold of the remote and make the afternoon's TV choices.

Jake didn't complain, although he didn't like my choices and rustled his sweet wrapper like one of those annoying people who go the theatre once in a while.

Anyway, might volunteer for the local homeless centre next Christmas, saves all the hassle plus I'll be doing something for people who don't have anything and I think that would be very rewarding.

I feel your pain! Our BL, to be fair, actually just came and hammered tar paper all over the roof, which is working for the moment. We moved here in June, were hoping for 5 years, but I'm not sure if this house will still be standing 5 years from now! This is a rain forest, it does rain. Lots.

The rain it raineth every day...

Stupid thing is, the leak here was not weather-related. It was the pump on the hot water cylinder thingy upstairs that sprang a leak. Again. This is the third time in two years. They have now replaced it, but we now have a hole in the downstairs ceiling where the water came through. This will mean the third ceiling replacement in recent times. And 48 hours without heating or hot water in mid February wasn't much fun. Baxtards.

In last night's monsoon, one of the smaller pieces of paper/tarp came off and is waggling across our kitchen window.

After being hassled by Windows for months about Windows 10, the other day I caved in and downloaded it...what followed was the stuff of nightmares..for endless hours (into double figures) my pooter just turned itself off, then on again..repeat and repeat ad nauseum. So I phoned the Windows helpline and after much discussion they informed me that my pooter is NOT COMPATIBLE with Windows 10!!! This was the first i'd heard, read or seen concerning this problem and I didn't mince words. So they said i'd have to get in touch with Toshiba, who would fix the problem..ok..Toshiba wanted almost 100 quid before they'd lift a finger, the arsehole bastards that they are..I told them to fuck off and die..took it to a local repair shop, he put it right for 45 quid...I wonder how many computers, worldwide, have been fucked up by this fuckery..it seems to me to be a massive corporate swindle...grrr!!
Oh yeah, my insurance wouldn't help either..they don't do software problems, sorry..so they can also fuck off and die...

I also finally caved in to the constant pop-ups last week. I was luckier though Barney. All went well except that the screen brightness adjust keys stopped working. It was like having my retinas burned out with a laser trying to use the laptop. The Microsoft help page that has been set up to deal with everyone's problems arising from updating to Windows 10 has a solution to the problem THAT DOES NOT FIX IT !!! Eventually after lots of searching very geeky, techie websites I found some dude who claimed he had fixed the problem for my hp Pavilion. I tried what he said and guess what........... I'm now typing this without sunglasses on!

I'd love to buy that geek a pint 8)
