One of the suspension springs broke on my car on the way home from work tonight. That's me getting up at the crack of dawn to go to get two buses into work (no direct bus to Aintree from my house) until I can find somewhere to get it fixed.

It never rains but it pours, just when all the winter bills have come in I have to fork out more money for the car.

I wish now I had opted for working in town.

So i kindly offered to take some old computers from work to the electronics recylcling. Backing the minvan up to the centre doors... CRUNCH into a fecking wall. Smashed out my rear taillight & a big ol' dent. Found a new (used) taillight but am trying to decide whether or not to pay a bodyshop to bang that vertical crease outta the rear of the van, as it's got the rear door rather sticky. And yeah, like i've any $ left at the moment....

Just shopping for someone who obsessively watches the games and nobody is gonna buy that crap with the Lisa Simpson Giving Head Olympic Logo all over it.

Strangely enough I was pondering shuttlecocks earlier.

Had to do with this:

My son just got a $150 ticket from the CN Rail police for walking by the train tracks. in an area were it wasn't fenced nor was there really any signage. His two friends too. I've walked that same area before, and i feel i would not have been jacked up, my bag searched, and ticketed. Should be fun to fight, the CN Police are way older than the city police and the railway safety act is Federal.

More car trouble. Fortunately, not as drastic as usual.

My blower switch has stopped working. I cannot get any hot or cold air out of my blowers at all. I can still drive it as the radiator and engine work fine, however if it goes cold again I'm a bit stuffed as I won't be able to defrost my windows or if it goes warm I will not be able to keep myself cool.

Hopefully it will only be temporary and Jake may be able to get it working for me at some stage in the future.

Mme firehazard had a similar problem last winter, and it was a sign that her car was about to die. Hope yours isn't similarly terminal.

Damn cars. My vehicle decided that it wanted to be driven for nearly 15 miles yesterday in first gear. Stupid automatic gearbox. On the phone to the dealers this morning...

Actually it mysteriously started working again.

Seems to be an intermittent fault. Threats to get rid of it seem to work.

So true. Speak to the vehicle sternly, using its given name. That often works.

The blower lasted another week and then stopped working totally. I decided it wasn't such a big problem, but the car has started to rust and been welded twice in as many years. Plus I've had it since just before I registered on here, so I decided it was time to start looking for a new second hand car.

I didn't expect to get the first car I saw, but I did, a 2002 Toyota Yaris in Metallic Blue. I was smitten and had to go and see it. It's in excellent condition and has only done 61,000 miles.

So it's time to say goodbye to Scarlet, the little red Toyota Starlet. I am very sad to her go, sold for scrap to the dealer who I bought the Yaris off. Tomorrow is her last day sat outside our house before I head to Warrington to pick up the new car on Sunday. I feel like I'm losing a friend. May she rest in peace, or pieces or something.

PC charger has kicked the bucket. :(

I have managed to charge it up with the charger from my old laptop, but the connection is not quite right and if I move the PC it stops charging. I went to PC World at lunchtime today to see how much a new charger would cost. They are £40 - £60!!

I was going to go window shopping in town this weekend, but now I'm going to have to go and buy a new one at some rip off price just so as I can keep my PC working.
