Here in Manchester we have a recently introduced hosepipe ban. We also have floods due to the torrential rain. I blame the coalition of austerity bastard government.

Monday (berlin): Up to almost 40 degrees, this was the hottest day ever measured in Berlin. I hate summer. Too hot. Too humid. Too many mosquitos with weird diseases. Electric bill is going through the roof this month. My little son keeps asking me to go skating and says he wants it to snow. Did I mention it's too hot???

Well, I'm glad that we don't have mosquitos with weird diseases here. Generally, very few insects this year. I haven't seen one yellow jacket (had to look up the dictionary: they are called yellow jacket, really? )

Maybe, when he wishes very, very strong...but I'm afraid that he has to wait a few month.

You ain't-a-kiddin'. Its gotten way over 80 (27C) here, and I don't think its snowed for almost two fortnights. And August hasn't even happened yet. And I look longingly at my skis.

Which leads me to my next moaner. I once again blew out my knee today. It seems to happen every two to three years since I tore my ACL skiing and never really did anything about it. So a few days of going easy on it, and trying to gimp after the twins.

Which leads me to my next moaner. Moving sucks. Especially when I am living in a sweet mountain cabin with a river less than 15 meters out my back door, neighbors barely seen or heard, and I will be moving to a hot humid city. ugh. (Its probably not very hot or humid by most people's standards, but I am truly spoiled in that regard.)

Yesterday was St Swithin's Day. It rained here. According to the legend, that now means it will rain for the next forty days. Probably more nowadays with VAT. Last weekend here in the parched sun-baked deserts of eastern England it was over 30 degrees (which is darn hot for this part of the world). I spent most of the weekend sitting in a gazebo rehydrating.

Anyway, I'm just waiting for Dave or Nick or one of the other ConDem baxtards to blame the Labour government, because they had all those years in power and never managed to sort the weather out. Mandelson's probably seen a book opportunity in it.

We also have a hosepipe ban. This is not only due to the dry weather this year, according to the local paper, it is also due to the fact that the reservoir's that serve Manchester were so low that they switched their water supply to ours.

Thanks a lot.

Luxury.

At this very moment my thermometer tells me that it is 40.05C outside. At least there's less than 20% humidity. Hell would be 40+C AND 80% humidity.

pool full of 9 year old girls blasting Justin Bieber tunes... this could be a long night
And I don't want no grave
Just throw my ashes in the field
And hope there's some soul left to save

I stand corrected. Hell would be 40+C, 80% humidity, and Justin Bieber.

its the classic rebellion against the parents music I guess (they still love the Pogues however) or maybe its just that Justin Bieber is so damn cute...

This will blow over!

I was led astray for many years, despite the CD/Vinyl shelves of my parents being filled with Johnny Cash, Depeche Mode, Queen or The Doors. There's even a Smiths' CD... But: I found back to good music!

I shan't forget the joy when my kids started getting the Clash and Smiths vinyl down off my shelf and playing them. 8)
They didn't need to "discover" The Pogues for themselves, as they'd been listening to them since they were dots.

I apologise for posting a non-moan there...

Stop it. Just stop it!

Post Wed Jul 21, 2010 9:35 pm

Dear Companies:

Just because "social networking" is suddenly all trendy you are NOT required to graft it onto your products. Making a car "tweet" (I much prefer the term "twat," but it just has not caught on) may be a entertaining hack for someone to do in their garage, but it NOT something I want in a future vehicle. I also don't want it in coffee machines or refrigerators or televisions.

Please, stop. K?
