It's not going to bring him back, but I was shocked, happily so, to hear that the killers of Victor Jara have just been sentenced to 15 years in jail for the killing!

The Kinks are reuniting to record new music & tour!

Ray & Dave Davies with original drummer Mick Avory. With both Pete Quaife & Jim Rodford passed on, no word on who will handle bass.

Wow, never saw this. (Well I was in the hospital for a LOOONNNGGG time) Thanks Sportin' Life. It's been more than 3 years now. The physical recovery is as good as it will get. The residual trauma rears its angry head from time to time. I keep in contact with a few dear raft mates, actually planning to visit Territa in September! Cadillac and the Mrs have visited me (we went to a Violent Femmes show together!). Also Carmen and Mats came to sunny San Diego. Maybe some of us can meet again! William Elliot Whoitmore is FINALLY getting out on the road again...

So many good years bonding over a band and the music we love. So many travels! Best to you all.

Great to see you aboard, KwaK. Hope the recovery continues. 8)

Old punks may remember DOA out of Vancouver, Canada. Well, in our recent round of municipal elections here band founder / front man Joey "Shithead" Keithley was elected to Burnaby City Council.

Joe has run provincially a few times, but many of us crusty old anarchists think the city level is the best level to actually successfully effect change. Burnaby, like the rest of the greater Vancouver municipal area, is going through a serious housing crisis, as well as the ongoing overdose/fentynal crisis, so it's good timing to have a level head on there.

Or, as others are saying, "one more shithead on council..." :)

POTATO, POTATO, POTATO!

Happy Thanksgiving to Philip who most likely would've just completed seeing a cycle of every Broadway and Off Broadway show in NYC. 8)
There was no better person on Earth to discuss theatre options with.

In a spot of good news as our world slides into toxic climate mass extinction, two separate species long believed extinct have been found alive in recent weeks:

A female of the "Wallace's giant bee" species, last seen alive in 1981, was photographed and captured on video in the North Moluccas islands of Indonesia in January,

and a 100+ year old female Fernandina Giant Tortoise, a species not seen in 110 years, was found last Sunday on the Galapagos island of Fernandina.

Yeah, well, I wouldn't want to actually run into one either, but I'm glad they're alive :)

"Indications found at the scene suggested that a pride of lions had devoured the remains leaving only a human skull and a pair of pants," the statement said.

Well ... what other kind of skull do they commonly find, that they needed to clarify?

The popular video of land pirates running behind (driving) tourists swinging swords is my nightmare.
Could happen on the ba (bart), I know. Could and did.

So, we've got this good ol' female cat named Layla, she's like 14 or 15, anyway, a true member of the family. Layla, while normally a good pal.. (if you don't bother her she'll leave you alone) has the bad habit - who knows why - that if you're walking around in shorts, skirts or generally with naked legs, she'll attack you and bite you around your knees. And not softly either!

And only today I realised that, not only Clapton has dedicated her a whole song, which I already knew, but he talks about exactly this tiny flaw:

Layla
You've got me on my knees, Layla
I'm begging, darling please, Layla
Darling won't you ease my worried mind

Oh we beg, god knows how much we beg when she gets us on our knees!

Sorry for wasting your time
