Just picked up my computer from the store, it is repaired and has a new keyboard and everything that was on it before it went in is still on it. Chuffed. :D

Rent at my housing co-op is only going up 2%, not the 22% that was being rumoured (never trust the rumour mill!)

My old friend Levi, struggling with mental illness at the time, was shot dead by the police a few years back. The cops all met with a lawyer before submitting their notes to vet their statements, align their stories and cover their tracks, so there was never even any chance of justice from any sort of investigation.

Well, thanks to friends, family and activists for him & another man killed around the same time, one small victory has been won. Although they had to fight tooth & nail all the way to supreme court, police will no longer be able to conspire with lawyers to vet their notes to try & cover up their murders:

Love you Levi.

My copy of Just Look Them Straight In The Eye And Say Pogue Mahone went missing three years ago. I searched the house for it but couldn't find it anywhere. This morning, I decided, as the internet was a bit dead, to have another thorough look. I spent half an hour searching all the places where I could have put it, even going through a bit built in cupboard in the morning room, but no joy. So I made a cup of tea and had a think but still couldn't think where I could have put it.

Twenty minutes later, I was standing in the morning room staring at the cabinet that houses a few of our many clocks. I suddenly thought, what about those cupboards in the bottom? Nobody's been in them for a while. I opened one of them and there it was. How the hell it got there I'll never know but so glad I found it. It is getting a much needed play at this very moment.

Hi Heather, I'm glad you found your copy! A similar thing happened to me! It was a ring my husband gave me for our anniversary, I was giving the dog a bath in the wash tub in the basement( because if I give her a bath in our bathtub she always escapes and shakes soap suds all over the house)I put my ring in the basement rafters and completely forgot about it! When I finally did realize I didn't have the ring I all but tore the house to shreds looking for it! A few weeks later the dog needed another bath and low and behold my ring was up there waiting for me just where I left it! Duh!

The driver of my bus coming home from work tonight was entertaining the passengers by singing Frank Sinatra and other similar songs, he was even doing the instrumental bits. He was rather good. Only in Liverpool. :)

Arizona pizzeria discriminates against homophobes

Rocco's Little Chicago Pizzeria plastered a sign on its window that reads: "We reserve the right to refuse service to Arizona legislators," after the Arizona legislature passed a measure last week that allows business owners to deny service to gay people, citing religious beliefs, according to the Arizona Daily Star.

This has been the place I've shared youtube vids of my kids in the past, so here we go again. We are sending them to the Ceol Mor band program at the Aberdeen Youth Festival in Scotland this summer, and organized a fundraiser to help pay the plane fare. Having not played together much this year they came at it naturally and with none of their customary bickering and delivered a find 30+ minute set at the show. Unfortunately, all i have on video is the encore, where they were simply trying to out-speed one another on Devil's Dream:

But we also shot a brief preview video too...

We exceeded our fundraising goal, as even our friends who couldn't attend all sent money. It's so fabulous to have friends.

I can't begin to tell you how proud i am. And their younger sister ran the raffle/door prize operation, with the grand prize being a stuffy jellyfish & baby jellyfish that she made herself!

Many congratulations to SF Jr, well done indeed. 8)

How is it that our kids seem to turn out cleverer than what we are?
