I'm about to take my older two to a three-week music camp in Kamloops, BC. They will billet with a family. This will be our longest time ever as not a complete family unit. While our youngest will stay with us, it's got me thinknig about some day when they will be all gone. I feel like i may get a seriously heavy duty case of empty nest syndrom.

But thanks for reminding me that there should be a transitional phase first!

While my sister and her husband were having dinner last Saturday night, she received a call from her 11 year old daughter stating " (13 year old daughter) left the house and was doing something she shouldn't be". Turns out her sister took her guitar and set up shop outside a local restaurant and at the end of her playing/singing , she made $29 and received an offer from another restaurant to play outside their place.

Good on (13 year old daughter). Initiative and talent. You go, kid.

A big Thank You to Territa for being a gracious hostess in Austin the other day. Territa is all awesome and stuff.

I concur.
And I don't want no grave
Just throw my ashes in the field
And hope there's some soul left to save

Texas is a big place, one needs transportation. I drove up there. Still here, Philip; remember the Alamo?

I greatly enjoyed your visit, DzM, and I'm glad you got to see a little bit of the place.

While on the subject of visits, I should mention that last year I escaped the heat and was a guest at the home of Clash Cadillac and CPoguesfan, who hosted one hell of a shindig. I'd like to take this opportunity to say thanks, again, for your hospitality. When I win the lottery, I'm flying everyone over to your place for a "raft" party, okay? 8)

More of it than I've seen in my last several visits. This time I made into into Austin proper and didn't just cling to the strip-malls on the outskirts. Thanks for that!

I have received Virgin travel vouchers as gift from Virgin trains for the inconvenience caused to my journey to Greenwich in July.

I have also had a letter from the Inland Revenue to say that I am due, not my first, but my second tax refund of the year.

Happy days. :D

Tis worth making note of the use-by date, Heather. Mme firehazard just discovered lurking in the unexplored depths of her handbag a train voucher in compensation for a terrible journey she suffered a while ago. The voucher is now out of date...

You just reminded me to check the contents of my handbag. God knows what's lurking in there.

It's my 22nd wedding anniversary. I married the beautiful, brilliant and quite wonderful Lisa on September 9, 1989.

Congratulations runjohnnyrun and Mrs runjohnnyrun. Mr & Mrs soulfinger have also survived 22 years, though we were a sunny Manchester June wedding. Mrs s is a finer Sheila than I deserve. :D

Hi, I appear to have been locked out of this forum :( and I can't get back in. DzM can you help? Password reset isn't working for me.

Anyway, I just wanted to post my video of some happy little goats, just days old, already getting their jigging legs working nicely, to Fiesta!
