One should never take their sister out tricking. That's just wrong.

 Hyphens added and now seared in grammatical memory.

Oh, I never said we didn't have trick-or-treaters. We just don't have houses making with the candy like when I was a wee tot expecting a hand-out.

i remember when it was on par with christmas and the 4th of july. costume contests at school and weeks worth of treats after the fact. it was strange to have a house on the block that wasn't giving out candy and now it seems odd when there's a house actually doing it. i think there were maybe 4 houses on my block and the trick-or-treaters were gone by 8pm. too many razors in the candied apples, i suppose....

I'm very excited at the faint glimmer of hope of seeing the Pogues in New York 2011. I've also dropped a few battles I was battling in pursuit of happier and more attainable goals. While I don't like to give up easily, there comes a point where you know you are in a loose, loose situation and you have to stop. It's like a weight has been lifted..did my best though.

A friend of mine posted on Facebook that he bought 3 turkeys and donated them to the Salvation Army so that a few families in need can have a turkey dinner for Thanksgiving this year. It inspired me to do the same. Took the girls with and they each carried in a turkey which brought big smiles to the lady working the front desk. Hope some one reads this and is inspired to do the same. That would be nice.
And I don't want no grave
Just throw my ashes in the field
And hope there's some soul left to save

That is a lovely thing to do. I don't know if I'll buy turkeys but I'll think of something suitably nice do for someone. My favorite quote springs to mind a lot at this time of year.

That's a good quote, Jane. I think I'll donate some booze then.

I'd like to drop a quick note that says:

Thank you American Taxpayers for letting me nibble at the public trough. It's been a challenging year. Being unemployed is soul crushing. The trickle of income from the safety net helped relieve some of the stress and stretch out the nest egg that has sustained the DzM homestead.

I am now, for the near future at least, no longer in need of the public trough. I am happy to be working again, and I am proud to be paying into the public trough with the knowledge that it is helping others that are in the same situation I was. If I could take some of my tax dollars out of stupid spending and direct them toward more funding for unemployment insurance then I most surely would.

Thanks again American Taxpayers. I owe you. And thank you The Company (All Praise The Company) for getting my snout out of the public trough.
