Many congratulations to SF Jr, well done indeed. 8)

How is it that our kids seem to turn out cleverer than what we are?

Will he be able to support you because he's studied how to prop up and support old relics?

That's undoubtedly the case with my girls too. Though it doesn't explain how they (or at least two of them) have turned out so tall.

A tornado took the roof off of my sister-in-law's house, but no body was home so every body is fine.

My older two are headed to the Aberdeen Youth Festival in 2 days to participate in the Ceol Mor traditional music band program. Here they are the other week playing "Tumbleweed Rag", a tune from the British Columbia post-WW2 swing era, at the celtic music camp here on the coast. I'm proud to say this is them UNrehearsed!

It's true. A complete mystery where they get it from, though (beyond a childhood of me blaring out The Pogues, Planxty, etc on the stereo).

Although i did learn this weekend that their great-great grandfather on their mother's side was a jazz pianist, working in the house band at Vancouver's legendary Penthouse club, so maybe it's a rrreeaaallllly recessive gene. He's not much talked about, though, probably because he left the family and shacked up with a morphine-addicted dancer,

Other than the whole "left the family" thing that dude sounds like exactly the kind of person one should invite to a party.

It's funny you should say that. We were attending a joint 80 year birthday party for the grandparents this weekend (son and daughter-in-law of the pianist mentioned). My son did comment how boring that family's parties are. Indeed, the only exciting part was my kids playing a set of tunes. I'm not sure how exciting an 80 year old's birthday is supposed to be, but I can't help feeling that great-granddad's, if he made it to 80, was probably more fun!

Perhaps that explains a little about his ultimately running off with the dancing girl(s). :)

I still remember my grandmother's 90th bash. Which featured an incredible cake, with an appropriate number of candles, which was undoubtedly a, erm, fire risk. And the imbibing of copious amounts of her famous cocktail, the recipe for which went with grandmother to the grave. Still remember the hangover too.

You have some incredibly talented kids there, Low D. Brilliant stuff. 8)
