I've been promoted: spent last St. Patrick's driving pre-teens from my daughters' Irish dance school around to dance at old folks homes. This year, it's teens & pubs. 4 teenage girls. In my van. With their music. All day.

And a very large drink when i finally get home!

All day with teenagers AND their music? You deserve a medal as well as a large drink! :D

Every few months I get an update on how the new Everyman Theatre, Liverpool is progressing, not that I don't already know because I look at the webcam every weekend and watch the little men at work. :)

Anyway in amongst the update I received today there was a certificate with my name on saying Thank You to Heather Hoy for supporting the Everyone for the Everyman appeal. Helping to create a new world of possibility for brave and brilliant theatre in Liverpool and signed by Gemma Bodinetz (artistic director and Twitter friend) and Deborah Aydon (Executive Director). Nice to be appreciated even if it is for a little thing like donating money for the rebuild. It is going to get framed and I am putting it on the wall where anyone who decides to visit can see.

My wife, the mother of four year old twin girls, just graduated third in her class in Law School. I wouldn't expect anyone to really care, but just in case anyone was wondering if Sportin' has a brilliant wife and if he is proud of her, the answer to both of those questions is yes.

Awesome. Congrats to her. I've a niece graduating Law School next year and have some idea of the constant work load they carry. Super studious people. 8)
Cool.

My partner started college with a 6 month old, her first child, and earned her PhD when her kids were 5, 10, and 12 years old, so I've some inkling of what your wife just did. You should both be really proud!

A mother duck leading her ducklings started crossing the track of an Indy car race in Michigan last week. After several cars dramatically swerved to avoid the family, the race was red flagged and the family was herded to safety. Video here:

Today I decided to go to the Liverpool Central Library. The building has been refurbished and reopened to the public a few weeks ago.

I must say they have made a fantastic job of it and I was well impressed. The Picton Reading Room has been beautifully redone and the clock on the wall which once sat neglected and dirty has been cleaned up and is working. Even the places that they have modernised don't look too out of place in this old building. I'd also forgotten that they have a wide range of books on all subjects. I spent nearly two hours there just looking at everything. They have even added a roof terrace at the top of the building where you can go and read if you want too. I was so thrilled with what they had done that I decided to join and get a few books out.

The system for taking books out is very sophisticated. You scan your card on a computer and then you scan your books and you get a receipt telling you when they are due back. You can even renew them on line if you can't a make it to the library to do it in person. All very fantastic stuff. Very impressed.
