Apparently, you're OK in the brain department old chap...

Way hey and a way we go donkey riding donkey riding,
Way hey and away we go riding on a donkey.
Was you ever in Quebec launching timber on the deck ,where ya
Break a bleeding neck riding on a donkey.
Way hey and a way we go donkey riding donkey riding,
Way hey and away we go riding on a donkey.
Was you ever round Cape Horn where the weathers never warm,
Wish to god you'd never been born riding on a donkey.
Way hey and away we go donkey riding donkey riding,
Way hey and away we go riding on a donkey.
Was you ever in Miramichi where they you tie up to a tree,
Have a girl sit on your knee riding on a donkey.
Way hey and a way we go donkey riding donkey riding,
Way hey and away we go riding on a donkey.
Was you ever in Fortune Bay hear the girls all shout hurray, here
Comes dad with dead months pay riding on a donkey.
Way hey and a way we go donkey riding donkey riding,
Way hey and away we go riding on a donkey.
Was you ever in Fredericton seeing the king he does come down,
See the king in his golden crown riding on a donkey.
Way hey and a way we go donkey riding donkey riding,
Way hey and away we go riding on a donkey.
Way hey and a way we go donkey riding donkey riding,
Way hey and away we go riding on a donkey.

Wow.
Glad you’re stable and resting.

Thanks Frances and DzM. It was apparently a pretty close call. It scared the family, but I was so far out of things that I wasn't fully aware. You see some weird stuff when you're that far gone, or you think you do.

Going to take a long time to recover strength and energy. But it's good to still be around.

During most of this, the song in my head more than any other has been Pressure Drop by Toots.

Flipping heck. That sounds very scary. I'm sorry to hear that it happened but delighted you're on the mend. Well played NHS!

You will, no doubt get to see them some time soon. They have a lot of touring to do to make up for lost time. I think Mike's hoping for more lucrative Knoppler work.

So sorry to read this, but happy you are recovering and happy you're in a country with socialized medicine so you won't need to declare bankruptcy or be paying for this for the rest of your life!

There was a salt monster in the original Star Trek that sucked all the sodium outta humans, after I think first appearing as a beautiful woman to compromise the crew members. Just saying...

Also, get well quickly FH. Why is your name firehazard anyway?

Thanks guys. Low D, I did see some weird stuff when I was a long way gone. But I don't recall an alluring salt monsterette being among them.

Erm, left, "firehazard" stems from what, as a wheelchair user, I've been called when not being allowed to be in particular places, specifically at gigs.

Donkey Riding, that takes me back all the way to my junior school years in nineteen hundred and frozen to death. In my class, circa 1963-64,we must have sung Donkey Riding at least once a week, from the good old battered, navy blue cover Oxford Song Book. That book contained songs with lyrics that i would be ashamed to sing today,it was a different World back then.Colonial and slavery themed songs, the 'n' word was frequently featured....Fast forward to the 21st century, listening to Great Big Sea live, opening almost every gig with.....Donkey Riding. Its included on the Great Big DVD, the Road Kill live album and on their Turn album. These days,i love to chill out listening to 17th and 18th murder ballads!

The slow spiral into the apocalypses is making me maybe wish it was over quick, and so i've had "Before the Deluge" stuck in my head. Written by Jackson Browne it's mostly Christy Moore's version i hear.
