The third fire off the summer has started in the county in which I live.

This week we had Storm Barbara.

Today is the quiet before the next storm.

Good luck.

The dichotomy of semi-PTSD and desensitization from being evacuated so many times in California is a real thing.

I have a little in the family whose article about overbuilding and the risks to residents of these pop-up neighborhoods and restrictive evacuations was picked up by the New York Times online. Family members (and their neighbors) petitioned and sued their city, actually won, stopping over-growth that was tacked on by developers and snuck through by their Council. I was shocked that they prevailed (for now) at all. That’s not usually how it goes.

Again, good luck.

I skidded out on ice on my bike commute to work this morning. Ice. In Vancouver. In October. Ah well, it's sunny & clear I shouldn't complain, but it's notable. Remember: it's 'climate change' not 'global warming'.

In weather news, it's raining in Manchester. Regularly and persistently.

There’s a little bit of burying the lede in that article.

In a world gone wrong, it's reassuring to know that some things are still as they should be.

I'm not sure I am happy to accept that rain in Manc is as it should be. It is however, how it nearly always is!

It's probably why you lot fell in love with the escapism of Detroit soul back in the 70's. Go dancing Soulboy, you'll feel better 8)

Is Borris 'The Snake'?

Very sadly, there is no dancing otherwise I would go. Once it starts again, I'm going every week until I pop me clogs.

Calling Boris a snake is unfair to snakes. Al Wilson's snake is far too good to be associated with that twat.

I hope you're well Fr

Yeah and never again will i turn down the chance to go to a gig because i'm a bit tired or i'm sulking because i can't have a pint due to driving. Back in March, a couple of local bands organised a gig and i didn't bother going. According to all accounts i missed a cracker. It was the last gig before Covidfkn19 :(

Re the weather, bright sunny autumn day. And we're all good thanks 8)

Yep, thinking the same here. We missed the last pre-lockdown gig because it was cold and we were a bit tired that night. Feckin useless oldies we are.

Still sitting on some tickets for Mr Cave and the Seeds at the O2. The gig's been postponed once already, and chances are it will have to be postponed again.

Foggy here. And the weather.
