The Medusa Fora

So years ago I bought this cd-single of Shane doing "My Way" that was sponsored by Nike of all things. On the packaging it said, "And coming soon, Sinatra sings Rainy Night in Soho" or somesuch. Sinatra died a few years later (possibly sooner.) But has anyone ever heard anything about him planning to record the song? I've been curious for years. (And yes, possibly it was a joke and I'm slow.)

I've always assumed it was a joke, although to be fair Ol' Blue Eyes could have done a beltin version of it...

I *think* it was part of a serious attempt by Shane's people to offer Sinatra the song.

Much as I love Sinatra, Ol'Blue Eyes probably realised he couldnt hold a candle to um........ Ol' Green Teeth's version. Shanes vocal on Rainy Night is absolutely magnificent(as is the bands playing) on that song. Moves me every time i hear it.
