nah, it's about art of diplomacy maybe :)
I do enjoy your answers, i mean their style. You are a true master of safe, tactful and still truthful replies. You never refuse to answer and never say more than it's necessary. So nobody feels aggrieved. (just intrigued maybe ;))

And you have no grounds to feel aggrieved too after my remark (your last "smile" arouses anxiety). It was sincere compliment nothing else! There are loads of fans of your musical masteries, i am a fan of your diplomatic skills (since PRS forum)

You would have driven bloody interrogators mad! True talent

Philip......Nothing wrong with the old songs at all, I would just like to see some of the early stuff make a comeback rather than a 'greatest hits' set. Transmetropolitan, Dark Streets of London, Kitty, Boat Train, Rake at the Gates of Hell...I could but won't go on......
I appreciate that 'all the people cannot be pleased all of the time' but it would make it pretty darn interesting.

Cheers

...of course we all can be very happy hearing and seeing them live on stage again and back in such a great form...yes of course! but.....i bet ALL of you would love going in an record shop buying an new album....wouldn´t you? so let´s still hope for it. maybe the guys will change their minds.
in my opinion...i cannot imagine an new shane-album with another "backing band" such like the popes was....i think he´s tired of it. he wants what he deserves.....success!
if shane will ever release new material it will be with the pogues....sometime....and that will be an no. 1 album!!!

cheers, heiko jungnitz

Yes and not long ago I recall band members saying that America would not be toured!

The great thing about minds is that they change :D

I would love to hear some new music but as a more recent fan (I grew up in Southern California in an all Latino neighborhood and thus my exposure to Iriash music was somewhat limited  ) I was blown away when I got to see them together during the first reunion tour in 2001. I'm travelling back to see them this year since I was really upset I missed the shows with Cait and I thought there was a great energy with the band. May be easier just to stick to doing the occasional tour rather than try to get down to actually recording.

More from the rumour mill

On teletext p144 right now Mr Jeremy Finer, who has previously said NO! to any new material, says the band MAY make a new album after the current tour.

The name of the 8th album is "Pogue Machine."

Or so says our man in the band:

Pogue Machine is our little known 8th album.

And so the wheels keep turning...

And in the new year, the band might just be putting together some new material.

"I've actually shelved my own projects for the time being because the Pogues thing is beginning to take off a bit," explains Terry. "We've been seeing young people in the shows we've done this year who wouldn't even have been born in our hey-day really getting into the music. I didn't expect that reaction at all. And we don't want to appear to be getting back together again just for the money.

"I have been writing constantly for the last number of years, so has Shane, Philip and probably Jem too, so we'll see. What's important to us at the moment is that our gigs are of the highest standard.

Is there going to be a new Album?
