Because Ronan Keating covered one of your songs, you all should get together and do a "Boyzone" cover album.
It's only fair.

How about No!

A collaboration with Ronan Keating wouldn't be a great idea. I do think, however, that he should cover some of the greatest Pogues hits in cleaned up versions. I wonder how he'd change that line: And he was a miserable bollocks and a bitch's bastard's whore?

A new Pogues album would probably be self-produced, I assume.

It must be very funny for the band members to read about their fans already choosing the producers for their fan-planned (and probably fan-written if the Pogues don't hurry up) new album.

I've come up with a higly unoffensive suggestion, suitable even for his overpolite lips: "And he was a miserable beggar and a brutal beastly bore." Surprisingly, Ronan Keating hasn't yet asked me to become his censor laureate... ;)

His work with the Bad Plus is excellent. He somehow manages to capture a "live" feeling on a recorded album.

He also did som great work with Los Lobos
But the work he did with Bonnie Raitt and Richard Thompson was not so good IMO

new songs

Hi all

I have read a lot of excellent threads on here and maybe this one has been covered, but does anyone believe that the we will see anymore new recordings by the band?

Welcome friend. There are no plans to record and to be honest, it's not really "in the air" at the moment.

Yes, quite. One way to make sure we continue enjoying ourselves is, at the moment, not to make a new album. I don't say we never will, I just say it's not in the cards.

to be honest, I would like to see a new album, but I really dont think that it would be as good as a live show, the amount of fun that seems to go on in a live show would not go into an album, if I was honest, I would much prefer to have a big tour, I would love to see another Pogues show!!

Phil, are the rumour about a pogues tour true?! I really hope it happens! The Pogues with the Tossers would be a dream gig for myself!

Except an album is £10 and can be played over and over, whereas a tour can be over £100 a pop all expenses considered, and it's only one night, give or take the lifelong memories >_>
