I downloaded a file the other night simply titled Darklands Jesus and mary Chain Cover 12/12/88. Being a huge Mary Chain fan I was eager to hear any sort of cover song but couldn't believe it when it turned out to be the Pogues! The sound quality isn't very clear but it's the f***ing Pogues doing the f***ing Mary Chain. The song sounds a little unrehearsed with Shane changing some of the lyrics but what a rare find. Anyone else heard this? Mr. Chevron do you remember this? I believe it's from Birmingham.

In any event, it was at least put before an audience, which is more than can be said for Jefferson Airplane's [Starship's?] "We Built This City On Rock And Roll" which did not survive past a soundcheck in San Francisco.
