Gosh Macrua, I guess I should be flattered you spent so long deconstructing my post...

In fairness I think you have read more into my words than was actually meant - I was merely a little aggrieved at what I took to be an unreasonably worded criticism from Guest/Ian. As I pointed, out he is entitled to his opinions, and the world would be a boring place indeed if we all agreed, all of the time.

I am however delighted to see that, unlike some boards, on here we can all discuss it in an adult manner, which is refreshing, and great to see.

Anyway, let's move on...

Oh, and Ian/Guest - if you do manage to register (or, I suppose, if you don't), then welcome aboard the good ship Medusa.

Congratulations. You have been "MacRuaed" and he is the master.

A comment criticizing MacRua and Zuzana has been moved to the Raise Up... thread.

Back in June of 2006, Radiohead filmed and promised a DVD of their legendary 28 song Bonnaroo Festival gig. So far nothing. I doubt if it will ever be released. So, if I do not hold a grudge against gods, why would I hold one against mere mortals??

New Live DVD

Post Tue Dec 08, 2009 12:42 am

Hi !

I do not know if that has been asked before...
If I check the show reports and reviews of the last couple of years, I often read that The Pogues are getting better and better the longer they play together... And that brought the the question up, if there will be a new live DVD in the near future. I only know one of the Show at the TC Club in London in the late 80s.

So Mr. C...is there anything planned ?

There's nothing planned right now. We filmed our New York Nokia Theatre shows a few years ago, but the record company rejected the film as "too dark". Literally too dark. DVD filming requires quite strong light even to achieve a gloomy picture. Shane refuses to have lights pointing directly into his eyes, so he has to be lit in ways that get around that, but unfortunately, it also makes him effectively unfilmable.

Its a shame that the footage cant be shown somewhere as I would love to see that. On the other hand I respect the bands right not to want have anything released that isnt the up most quality :D

You may have something there.............maybe we should ask David Attenborough to direct.

Hmmm, also no reflection in the mirror ? Maybe he's a vampire in the end ??

Back to topic: it's really a shame... Have been looking forward to seeing that footage - but think I have to accept not seeing it in the near future...

Could be scary. At least one of the characters in those David Attenborough films almost always ends up being eaten alive.

Ah, that explains why he was almost a silhouette at the Olympia.
