cant stand to hear the screech of dave king's voice-(flogging molly)-but like the band.also, dave has great personality ........still the band can not be compared to the greatnest that is the pogues!!!!before fm hit it big i used to go see the band play every monday night in the hollywood area at molly malones and now i really dont like the band very much although i have tried......but when you are craving the pogues--well hold on to your memories and hope they play your country soon......

I'm not too keen on any of them! I went to see Dropkick Murphys live and was extremely dissapointed (they didn't play any Trad stuff). I think that both bands contain too much guitar driven punk which is just boring. The Pogues had a really great traditional sound that made them original.

What I meant was that the Dropkick Murphys didn't play any of the Traditional songs that feature on their albums i.e. Rocky Road to Dublin and Fields Of Athenry.

 And why is that? They're nothing like the Pogues!
I think you have no right to judge them, I bet you only heard one or two songs.

Why do you deprive Flogging Molly of their (Irish-)Americanness?

DKM seem to get more Scottish and less Irish with each of their albums

e.g. Bagpipes - Scottish
Kilts - Scottish
Celtic Shirts - Scottish

Amazing Grace, Cadence to Arms (Scotland the Brave) and Green fields of France are all Scottish

... and the bagpipe "riff" from WSC is traditional Scots as well

and it appears that Ken casey wore a Scotland shirt at Reading...

but none of that matters because the musics still good.

I feel that DKM are to punky for my liking I'm a much bigger fan of the Flogging Molly's, DKM just aren't Irish enough for my liking.
