“Hang ‘Em High”
Written by Dropkick Murphys

We waited together for the cowards to come
Outgunned and outnumbered but we wouldn’t run
No mercy, no quarter
They’ll pay for their sins
Now lower the cannons the battle begins

We waited together for the cowards to come
Outgunned and outnumbered but we wouldn’t run
No mercy, no quarter
They’ll pay for their sins
Now lower the cannons the battle begins

We weighed anchor in anger, set sail for revenge
Hoisted the canvas turned her into the wind
We’ll hang ‘em high for justice and the whole world will see
Now off with their heads boys and bring ‘em to me

We waited together for the cowards to come
Outgunned and outnumbered but we wouldn’t run
No mercy, no quarter
They’ll pay for their sins
Now lower the cannons the battle begins

We’ll rattle the sabers for the tyrants’ demise
Feed half to sharks and the rest to the flies
An honorable death for you would be too nice
I’d like to savor the moment and kill you twice

We waited together for the cowards to come
Outgunned and outnumbered but we wouldn’t run
No mercy, no quarter
They’ll pay for their sins
Now lower the cannons the battle begins

The battle begins

Love the new album! Made a great soundtrack for my train trip up to The Pogues show in Chicago. Only wish I could have gone and seen them here in St. Louis tonight...

This has been a Great year here in Boston
First the Pogues come thru and do 2 Fantastic Shows
Loads of Energy from both the Band and Sold Out Boston Crowds

then the Dropkicks (whom have dropped a new CD w/more Banjo's thank God!)
Played 3 nights (4 locally)
and closed it out at a Private Fundraisor at the Historically cool Paradise Lounge
Attended House of Blues and Prvt Fundraisor

Great Memories as Always from the 2 Faves of Mine!

New DKM is excellent,a bit more folky then most of their other albums, still high energy though, with a guest vocal from ''The Boss',if the Pogues ever do decide to go back in the studio, they could do a lot worse the TED HUTT as producer.'

Murphys and Bruce Springsteen
Play 'Shipping Up to Boston' Together
May 19, 2011

Two months ago, Bruce Springsteen surprised the crowd at a Boston Dropkick Murphys concert by joining the band for "Peg O' My Heart," "Badlands" and "I'm Shipping Up To Boston." Hours later YouTube was filled with shaky cell phone videos of the performance, but this week a pro-shot video of "I'm Shipping Up To Boston" hit the web.

I have really enjoyed the "Going out in style" album which of the earlier Dropkick Murphys albums is most similar to it? It seems that the Singles Collection (1996-97) has a far more "thrash" metal sound to it than Celtic Punk.
Advice appreciated.

My niece's ex-girlfriends' cousin married/is marrying(?) one of them, or so I'm told. The one that got proposed to at a Springsteen concert. There are far less than 6 degrees of separation in life, I've found. Alls I know about DKM is that they have lovely billboards in Boston and they have a song that goes... I'm a sailor peg and I LOST MY LEG, I'M SHIPPIN' UP TO BOSTON! :)

Not relevant, I know.
