Tis shite except for State of... and Flannigan

Jailbreak is the second worst cover ever (Ronan Keating stays numero uno)

They really lost their originality after the first three cds. The choirs get really annoying after a while,

Still I think they are one of the best live bands around but their cds are getting worse

Haven't heard the new record, but how is Ronnie Drew's and Spider's guest spots on the album. With that being said I'm sorry but I though I saw the DKM open up for The Sex Pistols in 2003 in Boston, and I wasn't really feeling their performance. Maybe it's because I'm a huge Sex Pistols fan, but I found their performance tedious and shockingly boring.

I think they do too many covers in general, but I still like them. I think I might like the Street Dogs better.

I saw the same show in San Francisco. I think that was the last time I saw DKM.

Just bought the album. I really like it so far, but I didn't even finish listening to it. Many songs on this album are already classics in my book though.

I haven't got the new album but I think I am pretty mainstream in the Boston punk/skin community in disliking the direction the Murphys have gone in as of the last few albums. Dont get me wrong I still like them but they just arent about what they were founded as anymore

Tell me which band doesn't end up going in another direction though eh? Haven't bought the album yet but having listened to all the tracks on Myspace I think it's not bad at all. I agree they've become much more commercial, as with the last album 'The Warrior's Code', but personally there are a few tracks on there that I absolutely love - cover of The Auld Triangle and Last Letter Home. I do think the new album has reverted back a bit to the Murphy's I love to be honest, so I'll be buying it without any qualms.
As for the Street Dogs, they're on the up and Fading American Dream is genuine, straight up and just superb.

some of the songs sound exactly the same yes...the guys need to change their vocal style more often a little bit I think...
however the new album has some instant classics on there...
and yes I'm rocking it in my car every day
