Since this appears to be the hotspot for plugging radilo and TV, I should add this news from the great Mick Moloney, who has asked me to sharw it with likely candidates:

------------------------------------------------------------------

Hello All

Just wanted to remind you that the first of two radio programs that Peter Browne and I put together on the theme of Irish and Irish American Songs of the First World War will be aired tonight, July 19th, on RTE One at 9:00 PM. (http://www.rte.ie) The second will go out next Thursday at the same time. There are lots of great songs and great singers and a lot of rare material from both sides of the Atlantic. If you get a chance pass along the word to anyone you think might be interested. They keep them up on the web site for a few weeks I believe.

All the best

Mick is a many-splendoured man, musician, writer, folklorist, singer, record producer, academic and raconteur. Some of you will know Mick from his part in the 1960s folk music revival, when he was a member of The Johnstons. More recently, there are those who, like myself, are grateful that Mick has helped keep alive the Irish American Vaudeville tradition. preserving the work of Harrigan and Hart and George M. Cohan.

Thanks for the tip, Mick

Sounds very interesting.

Is he the same Mick Moloney who did Kilkelly on the Bringing It All Back Home album?

I'd say that's likely, though I don't have a copy to hand.

He performs it there together with two other musicians, Jimmy Keane and Robbie O'Connell. A great version of a great song. :)
