I guess a good place for me to start is when I see Black 47 at our local Irish fest on Sept. 16th.They play a regular Saturday gig at Connollys in NYC,which is where we held our pre-show shindigs for the Pogues shows.Last year for the same festival,Larry Kirwan made himself very available after the show for a chat & a Guinness.I will try to speak with him on your behalf to find out some info on Connollys & other good locations for you to start with.He should know,he did it.If you want,I'll make him a sampler of 4-5 songs from your cd & include your website ad.If you think that's cool, which songs would you prefer I include??

Got the CD through and thoroughly enjoying it. Favourite track at the moment is The Catalpa.

As for recommendations for future material, have you considered Take It Down From The Mast and Wrap the Green Flag Round Me Boys ?

Cheers Muchly Shant On. The Catalpa's a ripper al; right. Glad ye like my version of it. As for your fine repertoire suggestions - duly noted and under consideration.

Fintan- how about recording a version of Oro Se Do Bheatha Bhaile for the next CD?

NOICE one, sirrrrrrr. Fully 'as Gaeilge' or should I try for some kinda bi-lingual version?? ANY song about 'Grace O'Malley' would be a good thing, bless her.

I reckon fully 'as Gaelige'. I think it's a song that would suit your voice.

And thank you AGAIN, kind sir. It's one I've been known to do, and will probably be doing on Saturday night and Sunday this weekend at my gigs. So, GOOD call there, squire. And I'll tentatively say YES to including it on the next disc. I WILL however DEFINITELY be putting it up (as a Kitchen Session recording) on my site, WHEN I get a chance. :D

Is "The Barleycorn" the song that ends with: ...The drunkard he is a terrible man he used me worst of all, he drank me up from his dirty paw and pissed me against the wall.

BTW- Rocky Sullivans in NYC is a great choice as well as a bunch of places in Hoboken New Jersey and Katonah Ave in the Bronx.

Yep, indeedy. I sing it as:
"The drunkard is a dirty man, he used me worst of all,
He drunk me up in his dirt maw,
And he pissed me against the wall."
But yep, that's the one - you should be getting your copy fairly soon with any luck, went out first thing Monday (YOUR Sunday).
