Thanks for promoting our cd, on which we do play some Pogues classics. But we play them with the biggest respect to Shane MacGowan and The Pogues. And we do pay the rights, don't you doubt that!

What's inferior about it? It's an official European language, and has more clout than poor old Irish, so use it, use it with pride. Dismantle the Anglophonic linguo-hegemony forthwith, I say! :wink:

Did you actually know that Old English looks much more like another Dutch dialect (although it's technically a language): Frisian

That'd be because Old English is largely made up of Frisian and other North-western European Germanic dialects (Jute, Saxon etc) laid over a Norman (French-ish) substrate. Or something. :wink:
