For you impatient types out there, this is the band Stars covering Fairytale of New York. The cover starts at around 7:45.

It's charming instrumentally, but I find their voices too ... well ... warbly to really carry the song. Like they're tentative or something. I want them to commit to it.

Anybody else seen or heard of them? What are yer thoughts?

Hm, I could have liked it. Good music, but the vocalist ruins it for me.
He sounds like a boring version of MacGowan. "Hey, listen to me, I'm a copycat!"

That annoying, but lovely looking slut, Shania Twain, said it best:
"That don't impress me much!"

I like GWF and am looking forward to there new cd
To me the lead singer Arvid Grov sounds like his name - very European
nothing like Shanes London/Irish tonnes
Good luck to them for trying .

Are they good?
"Compared to most of the crap that's coming out, they are, yeah." Shane seems much more enamored with the New York/Celtic country band
Lancaster County Prison.
"I sang for them as well. The Dropkicks are all good blokes but I prefer Lancaster County Prison are really good, yeah?"
"Use your discretion!" he says in a tone of a government health advisor before breaking into an enormous laugh.
"As long as people are trying who gives a f***," he adds.

Some parts of Pogues songs. I always wonder if these bands pay rights because all these songs are on a cd they released
